Slept in. Again began the Bioda treatment to kill fruit flies found at lower level sinks. Foot care. Caulk job from last night seems good. Brunch: leftover quarter quesadilla, hot water. Attempted to plug in the old Apple TV HD (4th generation) to erase it, but now the TV reports that it has no signal from it. I tried a lot of things for 15 or 20 minutes before stumbling upon the hidden action of holding the Menu button while holding the Volume Down button for 5 seconds. This made the Apple TV HD appear correctly on the screen and I was able to continue with the reset. Troubleshot problems with the scanner not being seen from Patrick's computer. Restarting his computer fixed it. Archived documents. Trash management. Late lunch: leftover three-quarters quesadilla, TJ's garlic and onion pistachios, hot water. Patrick napped then later I napped. Patrick and I visited The Academy for the first time in a long time with friend and neighbor Dan. It was Dan's first time visiting despite having joined a few months ago. He got to ring the bell. We ate margherita flatbread and chicken bites with cocktails, chatting with many others on the heated patio before moving inside to the speakeasy. Home. Patrick went to bed. I shared with Dan via SMS links to handwarmers. Late snack: mini mozzarella pizzas on english muffin. Labeled spice jars with an ultra-fine tip black Sharpie and small labels. Bioda treatment to kill fruit flies—all upper and lower level drains except I forgot the half bath. To bed late.
Sat May 2, 2026
Breakfast: leftover spring lettuce salad with roasted cauliflower (but without sliced strawberries), hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Lunch: I prepared for myself breaded halibut from frozen with dill pickle mayo sando sauce for dipping, tater tots from frozen topped with fresh minced rosemary and salt and pepper, and grilled asparagus. Hot water to drink. Continued the undercabinet light replacement project. I installed one LED undercabinet light fixture above the dishwasher. Cleaned the kitchen, removed tools and trash. Patrick prepared a cake for tomorrow then prepared dinner: frozen sausage and caramelized onion pizza with fresh herbs, hot water. Polished plated with Comet and Magic Eraser to remove silverware stains. Trash management. We watched YouTube then The Simpsons s37:e7 on Hulu. Patrick went to bed. I cleaned the kitchen. Plant care. Bioda treatment to kill fruit flies—all upper and lower level drains. To bed.
Sun May 3, 2026
Folded clothes that Patrick had washed yesterday. Cleaned in the kitchen. Breakfast: one honeycrisp apple, three TJ's dutch griddle cakes from frozen with butter and maple syrup, half banana, hot water. Cleaned in the kitchen. Trash management. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Lunch at home with Patrick: delivery from The Little Chihuahua via DoorDash: we shared chips, salsa, and a TLC super burrito with pollo asado not spicy. For the salsa we chose smoky chipotle but only Patrick will use it. Watermelon mint aguas frescas. Later, I showered then napped. Dinner at home with Patrick, John R, Gary E, Martin C, Gray C, Andy T, and Chris G. Patrick's menu: limoncello spritz and negroni cocktails; spring lettuces, radish, and bacon salad with buttermilk dressing; warm baguette with herb-infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar; creamy cheesy polenta; Italian pot roast; preserved meyer lemon and labne cake with lemon-turmeric glaze. We talked for hours and enjoyed hearing each others' childhood stories, horoscope signs, organ recitals, and more. A fine evening.
Mon May 4, 2026
Breakfast: half honeycrisp apple. Cleaned in the kitchen. Patrick and I inserted the third of three leaves into the dining table. I began our (annual?) table waxing then realized with Claude's help that I should not have the mineral spirits which we have had for a long time and which smelled sour. I walked to the grocery store for some items then to Cliff's Variety for mineral spirits substitute. I continued the mineral spirits cleaning of the dining table. Next I proceeded with the waxing, heating Trewax with the medical heat lamp. The wax turned out too liquidy, and the wax clumped and smeared I think because the table was much cooler than the wax, but I was able to recover from it with a lot of elbow grease. After only one coat, a water bead test looked perfect, so I stopped there. Polished and dusted the table again, then vacuumed small bits of wax that had dropped on the floor. Next I washed the handheld vacuum filter with dish soap and a small brush. At some point during all of this I took a break for lunch: vegetable soup from a can, half salad with sliced mushrooms and diced radish and ranch dressing, hot water. We arranged the table—now with three of three leaves—against the west wall. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Later, dinner at home with Patrick: leftover Italian pot roast gravy with wavy egg noodles, hot water. Afterwards we rewatched 1 hour and 17 minutes of Jurassic Park: Rebirth on Netflix with cookies that Patrick baked: butterscotch and Maldon salt. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and started the dishwasher.
Tue May 5, 2026
Began physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Patrick left to visit his mom and Kerry. I began laundry. Breakfast: soft-scrambled eggs with cherry tomatoes, broccoli, white onion, and sliced mushroom; hot water. More laundry. Began creating 4x6 signs for Recharge Medical. Lunch at home with Patrick: leftover Italian pot roast and wide egg noodles; hot water. In the afternoon we prepared to set up art on the south wall of the north bedroom aka the office aka Patrick's desk. We used Command Strip Picture Hanging Strips and a Huepar 9011G laser level, our first time using both of these products. It wasn't easy, but it was easier than without these tools, and we got things to work along with a tape measure, a tripod, three chairs (because the tripod wasn't tall enough), and some yellow painter's tape. One of the first strips failed to adhere to the wall, and after that happened we wiped the wall first with dish soap solution then let it dry then again with rubbing alcohol then let it dry before applying the strip to the wall, and that seemed to help. Strips are now in place, and we'll wait overnight before more permanently affixing the art. Afterwards I completed physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Dinner at home with Patrick: delivery from The Little Chihuahua: garlic shrimp super burrito (whole wheat tortilla, whole black beans, no smoky chile salsa) and watermelon mint agua fresca for me, TLC regular pollo asado burrito (whole pinto beans) and salted chocolate chip cookie and pineapple agua fresca for Patrick. We shared a medium bag of tortilla chips with salsa from the fridge. We added tequila to our aguas frescas. Afterwards we watched YouTube including What Caused The Battle Of Puebla? - Magical Mexico Moments and part of Cinco de Mayo in Puebla Mexico 2026 🇲🇽 Epic Military & Civic Parade Part 1 and Mexicans reenact 1862 Cinco de Mayo victory over French army via Associated Press and I Recreated Star Wars out of Cardboard via Zach King and the cold open of SNL s51:e18. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Cutting board wood butter treatment.
Wed May 6, 2026
Breakfast: hash with shredded potatoes from frozen, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, and white onion; hot water. Final hanging of art on the south wall of the north bedroom aka the office aka Patrick's desk. The Command Strip Picture Hanging Strips worked well, and we are very happy with the result. Later Patrick and I walked and rode Muni to Stonestown Galleria to repair the back of Patrick's iPhone 16 Pro which cracked after an accidental drop. It was under AppleCare+, and the repair luckily cost us only $29. He's now using a case on it. We also purchased a gift. We lunched at Le Soleil, which was almost empty at noon on a Wednesday. Patrick had bahn mi with pork lunch special. I had bun bo lunch special. Each lunch special included a side of Hong Kong-style fish balls. The menu did not indicate that they were very spicy, but I ate them anyway. Patrick's bahn mi arrived first, then there was a very long delay before my dish arrived—perhaps 15 or 20 minutes. Our server apologized and attempted to explain why the delay occurred but could not clearly describe why. Later someone else—a manager?—stopped at our table to apologize for the error and to tell us that my dish was removed from our bill. My dish arrived. It was delicious and well-prepared except that one meatball included what I believed to be a small piece of gristle. Our server later again apologized for the error, saying that the chef somehow missed seeing the order and that there were language or communication difficulties. It was not the best first experience, but I feel they recovered as best they could have from the error. Walked and rode Muni home. I did physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue while Patrick napped. Continued creating 4x6 signs and began new business card designs for Recharge Medical. Dinner at home with Patrick: leftover burritos from last night and steamed white rice with leftover Italian pot roast, hot water. Afterwards we watched YouTube then the remainder of the rewatching of Jurassic Park: Rebirth on Netflix then YouTube with cocktails and snacks. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and started the dishwasher. Wrapped Mother's Day gifts. Started the dishwasher. More Recharge work—same as earlier today. Sent drafts to Drew. Bioda treatment to kill fruit flies—all upper and lower level drains.
Thu May 7, 2026
Slept in. Brunch: leftover Italian pot roast with leftover wide egg noodles, leftover steamed white rice, and leftover polenta; hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Felt very unproductive today. Lunch: leftover Italian pot roast with leftover steamed white rice, hot water. Later, dinner at home with Patrick: veggie red enchiladas, hot water, leftover Negronis. Fri May 8, 2026
Breakfast: plain yogurt with mexican vanilla, blueberries, toasted and shaved coconut, slivered and roasted almonds, mint chiffonade; hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Folded clothes that Patrick had washed earlier. Patrick and I discovered a dried salamander in our lower hallway. I put it in the compost bin. Began hanging of art on the east wall of the north bedroom aka the office aka Patrick's desk, again using Command Strip Picture Hanging Strips. Lunch and errands: Cliff's Variety for more hanging strips, Gada for food, and Rossi's Deli for chips and drinks. Walked home. Lunch: the chicken raclette melt in melawi bread was delicious. It was too spicy for me even though I requested "not spicy" to which the friendly (owner?) asked, "mild?" and to which I said yes. We each ate half. Parmesan garlic potato chips. We continued hanging art until all of the east wall was done except for letting the strips cure overnight before hanging the art. Did some cleaning of the desk area. Trash management. I swept in front of the home and in the lower outer stairwell. Did some structured data repairs on the Recharge Medical website. Dinner at home with Patrick: delivery from Kung Food via DoorDash: sweet and sour chicken, garlic choy sum, mu shu shrimp, bbq pork pan fried noodles, pork pot stickers. Patrick's fortune: Today, your words have the power to inspire. My fortune: October is a month for gratitude and reflection. Afterwards, we watched YouTube then Big Mouth s3:e1 on Netflix. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and started the dishwasher. Late at night I noticed that one of our undercabinet light installations has a small problem.
Sat May 9, 2026
Breakfast: leftover Chinese food: bbq pork pan fried noodles, hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Began investigating solutions to the undercabinet light installation problem discovered last night. Lunch at home with Patrick: leftover Chinese food: sweet and sour chicken, potstickers, hot water. Completed the east hanging of the art wall project, and the art wall project is now fully complete. Afterwards Patrick helped me complete a repair of the undercabinet light fixture problem after I returned from Cliff's Variety paying $1.50 for them to cut three inches off of a board of wood I brought in that was left over from a previous project. The light fixture problem was resolved. Later, dinner at home with Patrick: leftover Chinese food: mu shu shrimp, hot water. Afterwards we watched YouTube then began watching Bugonia on Netflix with snacks and margaritas. We watched about half before Patrick became too tired to watch. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Later I started the dishwasher.
Sun May 10, 2026
Breakfast: Patrick had oatmeal with sliced half banana, I had the last of a bag of TJ's pistachio-cherry-maple-pecan granola with the first of a bag of maple-pecan granola with sliced half banana and milk. Hot water to drink. I washed dishes as Patrick prepared food for a Mother's Day lunch. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Later we decided to delay the lunch due to Kerry's allergies. Midmorning we watched SNL s51:e19 Matt Damon on YouTube. Lunch: Patrick had leftover grits, I had leftover Chinese food and hot water. Washed more dishes. Unloaded photos from my phone. Afternoon snack: applesauce, peanut-butter-filled pretzel bites, water. Nap. Walked to dinner with Patrick, passing choices that were too crowded, and ending at Sausage Factory: red wine, small caesar salad, sausage and mushroom pizza. $74.40 after a $12 tip. Walked home. Trash management. We watched live the last hour of The Roast of Kevin Hart on Netflix. Patrick went to bed. I joined a while later.
Mon May 11, 2026
Breakfast: plain yogurt with Mexican vanilla, sliced half banana, blueberries, shaved and toasted coconut, roasted sliced almonds, local honey; hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Patrick and I prepared for and held Mother's Day lunch, one day late due to Kerry's allergies. Patrick's menu: asparagus and brie puff pastry with thyme honey; chilled strawberry bisque; corn, roasted red pepper, and avocado pasta salad (rotelle); bittersweet chocolate ganache cake; and hot peppermint tea. Our gift to Mom: a new iPhone 17e to replace an iPhone SE (2020). It took a while and a call to our wireless provider to complete the transfer. We also had to power-cycle both the old and new phones and delete a lot of apps she didn't need in order to keep things simple for her. It's a big step for her to use FaceID and to swipe up from the bottom instead of having a Home button, but I think she'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. Sam drove them home. Patrick napped. I happened to find some interesting things for us to watch for free on PBS. Later, leftovers for dinner: Patrick had pizza from last night. I had leftover Chinese food with newly prepared white steamed rice. Hot water and red wine to drink. We watched about one hour of Neighborhoods: The Hidden Cities of San Francisco: The Castro on PBS then a trailer on YouTube for Wanda Sykes: Legacy then Starfleet Academy s1:e1 on Paramount+ (which Patrick restarted some weeks ago). It has low ratings on IMDB, but I liked it a lot. Late snack: leftover Chinese food with leftover steamed white rice, water. To bed very late.
Tue May 12, 2026
Breakfast: two soft scrambled eggs with diced green bell pepper and diced green onions; shredded hash browns mixed with tater tots; one pork sausage patty; bread and butter; hot water. Chatted over SMS with Aggie about monitors. Recently I noticed that some threads had come loose from my green and black reversible jacket from Straight to Hell, so I mended it by hand then clipped other loose threads and then removed pills from the knit parts. Lunch: leftover asparagus and brie puff pastry, leftover corn, roasted red pepper, and avocado pasta salad (rotelle), hot water. Patrick and I did some organizing of the paint in the garage that came with our place after we bought it. Recharge Medical work: business cards. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Later, light dinner at home with Patrick: TJ's papas rellenos, hot water. Afterwards we watched Starfleet Academy s1:e2 on Paramount+ then the remainder of Bugonia on Netflix then YouTube. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes and started the dishwasher.

Thu May 14, 2026
Breakfast: plain yogurt with Mexican vanilla, flax meal, sliced strawberries, toasted coconut, local honey; hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Web work on frankfarm.com: Replaced the use of only two icons from FontAwesome with SVG to improve performance, added meta description, corrected the end date of my most recent position because I forgot to remove my code that automatically calculated the number of years and months. Recharge Medical work: account setup for DPC Frontier, 4x6 signs. Lunch: leftovers from last night, hot water. Began work to repaint the handrail of the interior stairway. Sanded and repainted the exterior bottom edges of the frames for the sliding glass door. Later, Patrick and I walked to Aiso for dinner. Cocktails: Damn Gina (hibiscus infused tequila, suze, lime, agave, soda, petals) for Patrick, soggy dollar (dark rum, orange, pineapplecoco, nutmet) for me. We shared: hearts of palm fritto, jerk sliders, garlic butter udon noodles. About $100 before tip. All food and service was very good. The fritto we realized is too rich for us to finish, but we enjoyed the half that we had. Walked home. Patrick heated previously frozen slices of his bittersweet chocolate cake in the microwave. We watched 40 minutes of Anjelah Johnson-Reyes: Ugly Baby on YouTube. Patrick went to bed early. More frankfarm.com optimization work. Began Recharge Medical website optimization work. Updates for websites.
Fri May 15, 2026
Breakfast: half of a giant pancake with blueberry sauce. Earlier this morning Patrick had made the sauce and had eaten half of the pancake with it. Hot water to drink. Patrick had done some organizing of things in the garage, and today we finalized decisions about how to dispose of many things we no longer wanted or needed: trash, donation, or sell. Next we began work to remove one of the three Ikea Tunhem cabinets from the north bedroom aka the office because Patrick wanted the room to feel more spacious. After we removed the center Tunhem, we moved the one on the left to where the middle one was. This required some adjustment of power cabling to reduce lengths we now no longer needed. We also installed shims under the feet to remove excessive leaning of the cabinetry. Walked to lunch with Patrick at Super Duper: poblano burger and chocolate shake with malt for Patrick, mini burger with cheddar and kids special shake (banana) for me. We shared fries. Walked home. Checked on the paint job from yesterday—all is well. Folded clothes that Patrick had washed and dried earlier. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Did some light vacuuming throughout the entire home. Later we tried to move the removed Tunhem to the garage but failed. We didn't know how to get it from the lower hallway to the outer stairwell. It got stuck and then incurred a few scrapes. We moved it back to the lower hallway. I showered while Patrick napped, then I napped while Patrick showered. We walked to dinner first trying Ka Kai which was full then walked through Castro Street Market a bit then Heroic Italian at Swirl was also full (indoors—too cold to eat outdoors) and we ended at Thai House Express: fresh rolls, tofu with mixed veggies, crispy chicken, steamed rice, two Singhas, water. All food and drink and service were very good. We had plenty leftovers to take home. We walked more of the Castro Street Market before returning home. We finished watching Anjelah Johnson-Reyes: Ugly Baby on YouTube then watched other videos on YouTube. Patrick went to bed. I remained awake a few hours and then went to bed.
Sat May 16, 2026
Folded clothes that Patrick had washed and dried yesterday. Breakfast: leftover half giant pancake with Patrick's blueberry sauce, hot water. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Plant care. Continued the undercabinet light replacement project. I removed a fluorescent light fixture where we keep our microwave and replaced it with an LED one. I even drilled my own hole in the fixture using the step drill bit. Patrick helped. Then, in the half bath, I removed a dimmer switch (Lutron MSCL-OP153M-WH) from the half bath and replaced it with a Lutron Maestro MS-OPS2. I installed the Lutron MSCL-OP153M-WH I had just removed from the half bath to activate the light fixture I had just installed above the microwave. All of this took most of the day. I encountered trouble replacing the 3-gang switch plate and realized that the screw holes were off because of the position of the Lutron MSCL-OP153M-WH on the far left where it butted the tile. Since the Lutron MSCL-OP153M-WH was wider than the original switches, there wasn't enough space for it to match the screw holes even though it technically fit otherwise. I thought I was going to have to grind down the tile edge on the left side, but then I realized I could simply move the new switch to the middle position and the problem would go away. Finally, success. Cleaned all work areas, then put away all tools. I was so busy with this project that I didn't have time to eat lunch. Dinner at home with Patrick: miso butter ramen with bok choy, hot water. Trash management. Afterwards I used the step stool and some gardening scissors to trim greenery in front of the home that was encroaching on the garage. Swept in front of the home. While doing so, Michael from across the street came over to introduce himself and (re-)invite us to an event. I introduced myself, and we chatted briefly; I had already replied yes. Later Patrick and I watched Starfleet Academy s1:e4 on Paramount+ then YouTube. Patrick went to bed early. To bed after a few hours.
Sun May 17, 2026
Emptied the dishwasher while breakfast was heating. Breakfast: leftover giant pancake with butter and leftover Patrick's blueberry sauce, hot water, hot TJ's spiced chai with local honey. Patrick this morning emptied the folding bookcase in the living room so that we could move it to the north bedroom aka office. I vacuumed dust from the bookcase then dusted the dining room chandelier. Vacuumed the upper level indoors. Deep-vacuumed the balcony including removing spider webs and former birthing homes from the sliding glass door tracks above and below and from the pergola and the balcony railing. I previously had simply swept the entire balcony with only a broom, but vacuuming is so much faster because we have mostly very small plant debris that is much more difficult to remove with a broom. We don't have an outdoor vacuum, but the 12-year-old Miele S2121 canister vacuum we have does a pretty good job. Scrubbed the balcony railing with dish soap solution and a scrub brush. Attempted to remove green and black streaks from the exterior west wall looking down from the balcony with both dish soap solution then vinegar solution—both failed. On the east end of the balcony, I trimmed bushes that were growing onto our property. Unhooked the earthquake tipover protection for the folding bookcase in the living room, then spackled the holes. Mended a blue Bombas sock by hand before a hole was able to form. Lunch: leftover spinach and asparagus in TJ's rosemary marinara over egg noodles, hot water, hot TJ's spiced chai with local honey. Patrick and I prepped the west wall in the north bedroom aka office for touch-up painting. The baseboard also needed minor wood putty repairs. We painted the wall while awaiting the wood putty to dry. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Dinner: delivery from Papalote via DoorDash: Patrick had a pollo asado super burrito with pinto beans, spanish rice, and flour tortilla. I had an al pastor super burrito with black beans, spanish rice, and spinach tortilla. Tortilla chips and salsa to share. Afterwards We watched Starfleet Academy s1:e5 on Paramount+ then a few YouTube videos. I sanded the wood putty baseboard work at a break in the middle. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Google Meet chat with Dex and Lani. Made a change to T's website to remove the contact section at her request.
Mon May 18, 2026
Breakfast: toasted Wise Sons everything bagel with cream cheese, one nectarine, hot water. Cleaned the kitchen. Trash management. Swept in front of the home and in the street. Deep-cleaned the kitchen faucet aerator. Lunch at home with Patrick: leftover burritos and tortilla chips from last night. I also ate leftover fresh roll from three nights ago. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. I touch-up-painted the baseboard in the north bedroom aka office. Dinner at home with Patrick: Bi-Rite deli chicken and cabbage salad. We also shared a mini baguette, heated, with butter. Afterwards I attended Bubbles with Manny, a meet-and-greet event put on by one of our neighbors in support of Manny Yekutiel who is a candidate for the forthcoming election of District 8 supervisor following Rafael Mandelman's termed-out departure. I (re)met hosts Michael and Kara, met dog Rocky, Frances and Aaron, Bill, Joe, Ron and Denis, Connor S, Nina M, and more. Manny talked about his coming out, his history as cafe owner, MTA board member, and co-creator of the Civic Joy Fund. He talked about issues surrounding homelessness issues, housing, education, and more. Walked home. Patrick and I watched Starfleet Academy s1:e6 on Paramount+ then YouTube. Patrick went to bed. Late meal: leftovers from Thai House Express: steamed white rice with crispy chicken and mixed vegetables, water.
Tue May 19, 2026

Later, lunch at home with Patrick: TJ's quiche from frozen, mini baguette with butter. The quiche was too rich for both of us. We stopped at one quarter each. Water to drink. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Later, dinner at home with Patrick: Ethiopian lentil soup with flatbread. After dinner: rum-based cocktails with coconut juice, orange liqueur, and cardamom bitters. We watched Starfleet Academy s1:e7 on Paramount+ then YouTube. Patrick went to bed. I processed dirty dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and started the dishwasher. Began creating an InDesign template for labels for bins stored at the bottom of our Tunhem cabinets.
Wed May 20, 2026
Breakfast: leftover Thai food: steamed white rice, tofu and vegetables, crispy chicken. Hot water to drink. Home improvement in the north bathroom: scraped old grout from the bath tub fixtures, deep-cleaned bath tub fixtures and door tracks and some of the glass with Goof Off. Applied silicone sealant to where the tub spout meets the wall; it did not have any even when we had moved in. Lunch: leftover steamed white rice with freshly prepared steamed asparagus and leftover crispy chicken, hot water. After our recent touch-up painting in the north bedroom, we realized that we have two cans of paint labelled trim, and the newer one we had used was not an exact match where we had painted, so today I repainted that trim entirely in the exposed areas rather than just touching up. Foot care. Plant care. Vacuumed the north bedroom. Spot-vacuumed the upper level. Physical therapy exercises to treat a minor back issue. Walked to dinner at Bar 49: cocktails: old fashioned for Patrick, gold rush for me. We shared a chicken wrap and fish sliders. Afterwards we walked to Blush! where Paul met us. We drank wine and enjoyed the music of Americano Social Club. Walked home. To bed early.

Cleaned the soles of my heated slippers with Dawn PowerWash. Patrick and I moved our folding bookcase from the living room to the north bedroom aka the office. During the move, one of the brackets broke out of the wood, so I patched the hole with wood putty, and we need to wait two days for it to cure. Dinner at home with Patrick: leftover lentils with freshly made basmati rice, water or hot water. We watched Starfleet Academy s1:e8 on Paramount+ then YouTube including SNL s51:e20 Will Ferrell. Cutting board wood butter treatment.
Fri May 22, 2026

Later, I walked to lunch with Edgar at New Red Jade. Mapa tofu lunch special for Edgar, beef with broccoli lunch special for me. My fortune: Dare to dream, hope, believe. Afterwards I did part of the Dolores Street walking tour in an old edition of the book called Walking San Francisco. Walked home, encountering and chatting briefly with Pachooey outside of Hot Cookie. Nap. Walked with Patrick to The Academy for drinks and dinner: El Polín (cazadores, lemon, cucumber, habañero tincture) for Patrick; The Drake (rye whiskey, campari, lillet blanc) for me. We shared the cheese board with Beehive Cheese Company Barely Buzzed cheddar (rubbed with espresso and lavender) and the sausage and mushroom flatbread.
