Continuing cold symptoms, day 10. Breakfast at home with Patrick: scrambled eggs with cilantro and shredded cheddar, hash browns, toast with butter, 8 ounces of orange juice. Rode Uber Pool Express to UCSF Laurel Heights. Sprint standup. Spent most of the day reading blog posts about all the great, recent talks at An Event Apart Seattle. Rode Uber Pool Express to the Castro. Met Patrick for dinner at Hamburger Mary's, our first time to this space at 531 Castro Street that for decades had been vacant. We were warmly greeted by a fabulous drag queen. The wheelchair lift in the middle of the dining room is extraordinarily awkward, taking up a lot of space and creating an unpleasant claustrophobia for diners in the back of the restaurant. It's unfortunate that the entire restaurant could not be one level. The back patio was not open, but I was able to see that it looks like a really nice space. Patrick and I split a caesar salad (no chicken) and a barbara-q bacon chicken burger. For drinks, he had a Stella draft, and I had a hot toddy. All food and drink was delicious. Service by cheerful Eric was excellent. Our bill was delivered charmingly in a high-heeled shoe. $45.21 after an $8 tip. There is oddly no mirror in the restroom; I had bit my tongue while chewing food and was unable to check it in the restroom. Afterwards we had planned to attend an exhibit and talk at the LGBT Museum but at the last minute changed our minds about attending. Instead we browsed for a while at Cliff's Variety, buying nothing. Rode UberX home with Patrick. Watched Superstore s3:e17 on Hulu Basic Plan with Patrick. Recharge Medical work.
