Ran in place to various YouTube videos. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, roasted and unsalted slivered or sliced almonds, cacao nibs, toasted unsweetened coconut flakes, blueberries; water. Vacation day. Late morning Patrick and I walked to Irving Street in the Upper Middle Sunset to run an errand then stopped at Henry's House of Coffee for a bacon, egg, and cheese on everything bagel sandwich, which we shared. Patrick also got a chocolate milk. Returned home. We're still finding king cake glitter in various places: on towels, rugs, floors. Nap. Rode Muni to dinner at Boulevard with Patrick. St. Geron sparkling water, Boulevardier cocktail for Patrick, Gran' Market cocktail for me, two three-course prix fixe meals, glass of Brunello for Patrick, glass of small V pinot noir for me. We started with an off-menu first bite which was larger than an amuse bouche: homemade herbed potato chips, cheesy sticks, vegetables, and hummus dip. Appetizers: Spanish octopus (cauliflower fritters, lime crema, pickled chayote and kohlrabi, peanut and currant salsa macha) for Patrick, dungeness crab salad (green goddess dressing, rosa radicchio, heart of puntarelle, pink and valentine pomelo, salsify) for me. Mains: Angus beef filet (medium rare, duchess yukon potato, asparagus, leek soubise, sauce bernaise and roasted jus) for Patrick, Brent Wolfe quail (wild rice, bacon and leeks, wild pecans and sunflower seeds, buttered swedes and cherry saba) for me. Desserts: strawberries 'romanoff' roulade (strawberry sherbet, blood orange rhubarb sauce and chantilly) for Patrick, molten chocolate cake (with salted caramel ice cream, almond cocoa nib brittle and dark chocolate sorbet) for me. We finished with an off-menu small bowl of caramel corn with chocolate and one jelly candy for each of us. All food and drink was delicious. My crab salad was larger than expected. Patrick's filet and my quail were perfect. My molten chocolate cake was not quite molten in the middle, but I didn't care to mention it, and it was still delicious. Service by Gina was excellent. We loved sitting at table 19 because it was directly adjacent to the mains pickup station, so we got to see lots of dishes and watch the team work quite flawlessly. The bar seating also enables you to closely watch the kitchen while they work. This was the first time dining a full meal for both of us. I think I had come here once before briefly with Tina a very long time ago but we sat only in the bar and had drinks and perhaps a small bite of something. Rode UberX home.
