Slept in. Lunch: leftovers. Organized stuff. Continued watching Kong: Skull Island on Netflix DVD with Patrick. Tried to order King of Thai Noodle but realized that they had not opened yet. Dinner at home with Patrick: chicken, rice, and mushroom soup, alta palla, red wine for Patrick. Rode UberX to Chinatown. Met Drew, Phil, Romeo, Richard, and Michael for a stage performance of Cabaret at Great Star Theatre. At intermission I got a rose beer ($5) which I enjoyed. I described the performance as "a step above shoestring budget." It was of uneven quality overall; the best singing came from the woman playing Sally Bowles. The sound and lighting seemed perfect except for (a) one moment when an audio feedback loop gained in volume and intensity for a few seconds before it was resolved and (b) a dark spot towards stage left when the rest of the stage was reasonably lit. Afterwards Richard, Michael, and I had a late meal at Comstock Saloon: beets with goat cheese (pomegranate jus, parsley oil, toasted hazelnuts) and lo mein cacio e pepe (pecorino, parmesan, Szechuan pepper) and a beer for them, cow burger and a glass of tempranillo for me. Rode UberX home.
