Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, cacao nibs, roasted slivered almonds, toasted shredded coconut, golden raisins; water. Rode Muni to work. Chatted briefly with Nathan. Calendar management. Custom HR report prep and delivery. Handled a small web edit for Phillip B. Chatted with Eric in Teams about the HR filter report (and where the current one lives). Lunch at Perilla with Nathan D: vermicelli noodles with imperial rolls, chicken for him, beef for me. Thai iced tea for me, water for both. We talked about hot and cold spaces, homes (current and previous), renting, friends and relationships, families, generational differences, Breaking Bad, Netflix DVD, the PharmD program, Disneyland, food spiciness, boba tea, COVID and other viruses, and more—a nice time. Followup with FAA redirect: I forgot that in order for file redirects to work the file must first be deleted. Followup with password change request with IT. Read NNGroup's email newsletter. Chatted with Deborah on Zoom to work on a news story she is publishing. Miller Lab prep for migration. Rode Muni home. Dinner at home with Patrick: Moroccan red lentil stew with cornbread, water. Dessert for Patrick only: two homemade date-oatmeal cookies, previously frozen. Afterwards we finished watching Dr. Jason Leong: Hashtag Blessed on Netflix instant watch then began watching Severance s1:e2 on Apple TV+. Patrick went to bed. I continued troubleshooting errors on Patrick's computer. The recurring symptom was that an external drive would report with "disk not ejected properly." I discovered that the laptop's hard drive reported errors when Disk First Aid (DFA) was run on it in recovery mode: "The volume [name] was found to be corrupt and needs to be repaired" and "Unable to perform deferred repairs." Running DFA on the container seemed to resolve it. Then next while checking an external hard drive: "warning: mismatch between extentref entry reference count (0) and calculated fsroot entry reference count (-1) for extent (177070352 + 4)" appeared on two different Time Machine snapshots. Then two occurrences of "error: missing/invalid physical extent (177070352 + 4) with refcnt -1 at snapshot [number]" and "error: failed to enable crypto I/O mode for container /dev/rdisk7: Invalid argument" and "Some APFS cryptographic state information was unexpectedly unavailable. : (-69461)—Operation failed..." I tried erasing the volume and got "An internal error has occurred. : (-69620)" I then tried deleting the volume and got "An internal error has occurred. : (-69623)—Operation failed..." I stopped there.
