Slept in. Walked to the river then along the river walk for a bit. Lunched on a shrimp po-boy and Minute Maid lemonade at Johnny's Po-Boys, which was a disappointing meal I think because of the bread which was either warmed too long or not good bread to begin with. I sat upstairs on the balcony, which is a great spot to see the many horse-drawn carriages that pass. The upstairs room indoors is the next-best place in Johnny's to eat because it's more spacious than on the ground floor. Avoid the dining room in the back; it's miserable. Walked to Jackson Square and rested for a bit, watched a drone camera flying overhead. Returned to Marriott New Orleans. John arrives, I met him in the hotel lounge. Errands with John: CVS, McDonald's. Rested. Dinner at Creole House with John: John had a margatini and the Taste of the Bayou (three: red beans and rice, chicken and andouille gumbo, jambalaya), I had the Taste of the Bayou (three: red beans and rice, chicken and andouille gumbo, crawfish etouffe). Water for both. These entrees are more filling than they seem; no room for dessert. Returned to the hotel so that John could make a phone call. Barhopping: Corner Pocket, Bourbon Pub and Parade. Late snack: Willie's Chicken Shack. To bed.
