Rode Lyft Line to the airport. Brunch: I thought I ate at Max's Eatz and Fresh Bakery because the bag my roll came in said Max's, but my receipt said I ate at Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I ate a very delicious Chinese chicken salad with sourdough roll and butter, Perrier. Flight United Airlines 1848 SFO (San Francisco) to MSY (New Orleans) and White Fleet Cab were both uneventful. On the plane on my iPad Pro I began playing Lara Croft Go and A Dark Room and continued playing Shadowmatic and Blek. Rewatched the end of Star Trek (2009) (iTunes purchase). The four-hour flight seemed to go quickly. When exiting with my luggage I didn’t know the best place to wait for Lyft, so I took a taxi instead—$41.40 after a 15% tip. At the Marriott I agreed to wait about 30 minutes for my desired room, so I waited in the lounge area, which was pretty noisy but I was able to tune it out. Settled in my room. Walked in the French Quarter, stopping at Cafe Beignet on Royal Street for a very late dinner because they had great live music by a classical guitarist playing melancholic rock classics and because it was charmingly decorated and mostly empty. I ate a roast beef po-boy with Perrier, then placed a second order for beignets. Food was good, but the beignets at Cafe du Monde are better. The guitarist was Tony Buchanan, and he played excellently. Afterwards I stumbled upon Bella's Blue Book Cabaret at The Bourbon Pub and Parade. The show was just starting. I ordered water and a hurricane. The show had some live singing and some lip synching and included burlesque and boylesque which was fun to see at least once. I met and chatted with some guys including some in town for a PWC conference: david, eddie, steve, adam, don and ersan, brad and fran. Walked to the hotel.
