Finished packing. Today Patrick and I leave for the Atlantis Halloween in Mexico Cruise. It's the first cruise for each of us. Taxi from home to SFO, about $50. Light lunch at The Plant Organic Cafe (plantcafesfo@gmail.com): quinoa bowl: about $11. SFO to LAX via Virgin America. The woman seated next to me complimented me on my hands and told me that if you squeeze your pinky you can mitigate an urge to urinate. Taxi from LAX to La Montrose in West Hollywood: about $65. Emery and Chris O were waiting outside and introduced us to David. Checked in to Le Montrose. Our room is possibly the most expensive hotel room we've ever had. It's very, very nice. Walked to SMB to get some food and encountered Larry and Chris. Larry introduced us to Bob. We ate at a sidewalk table at Bite Cafe: mexicali wrap with grilled chicken and Corona for Patrick, zucchini and tomato something with juice and iced cappuchino for me. Service and food delivery is very leisurely. Shopping around SMB. Encountered Nico outside of CVS, chatted for a few minutes about his shows and about cruising. This will be his second cruise. LASC shopping event. Met Yves in line at the register who also bought flip-flops. Patrick and I returned to the hotel room. Washed flip-flops. Added Global Messaging 50 after some hassle with AT&T. Shower. Rooftop hot tub, chatted with a couple from Montreal. Shower. Walked to SMB. Lots of people dressed in Halloween costumes. Late dinner at Kitchen24 with service by Steven W: caesar salad with grilled salmon, orange juice for Patrick; tuna melt with fries, hot jasmine green tea for me. $34.15 before tip. Back to Le Montrose.
