Washed laundry. Breakfast: leftover ramen to which I added TJ's instant thai wheat noodles. Hot water to drink. Deep-cleaned the dish rack. Cleaned the dishwasher filter. Followup work with the north bedroom closet door: in the latch assembly the metal plate behind the faceplate cracked into three pieces, two of which fell out. the handle still worked, so I used green painter's tape to adhere the pieces that fell out, then reattached the faceplate to hold everything in place. The faceplate bulges a bit on the left side, but it must have done that before we bought the home, and it does not interfere with the handle operation. I am pretty sure that is a problem I did not introduce. Foot care. Folded laundry. Walked and rode Muni to Arquet at the Ferry Building Marketplace for lunch with Phil and Drew at table 11 which was adjacent to a door and along the windows facing east. Sparkling and still water. Appetizer: we shared burrata with melted leeks ($18) with extra burrata toast ($3), which was very delicious. There was a long delay—perhaps 20 minutes—before the mains arrived: Phil had dungeness crab cakes ($36), Drew had chicken of the woods mushrooms with lumache ($24), and Patrick and I shared a cheeseburger and fries ($28). Service by Jaswinder K was good when it arrived but extremely infrequent. He apologized for the infrequency at one point. It was unclear to me what exactly was the issue. The crab cakes were too salty but we did not complain about it. The cheeseburger was tasty and correctly cooked to our order (medium), and the fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful. No dessert. Because our first visit had gone so well, we were disappointed with this visit especially since we were introducing Phil and Drew to this restaurant. Afterwards we walked through the Ferry Building a while, buying nothing. Phil and Drew departed. Patrick and I walked to Embarcadero Station. On the Muni ride back, Patrick and I encountered Leslie M, Sammie, and Brooklyn and chatted for the duration of the ride. They had just returned from a visit to Alcatraz. At home I continued folding laundry and cleaned washlet odor filters. I continued reading from paperback book Confluence by Alex Turner and Lucian Childs. Dinner at home with Patrick: boiled dumplings in a soy-garlic sauce with green onions with fried green onion pancake, hot water, white wine. We watched Big Mouth s3:e5 on Netflix then Patton Oswalt in Tea & Scotch on Amazon Prime Video.
