Breakfast: plain yogurt with one sliced banana and Patrick's homemade granola, leftover club crackers with bacon and jalapeno, hot water. Applied rubber feet to new terrazzo bookends for a bookshelf in the living room. Neti pot. Foot care. Installed a 3M Command Strip hook in the south bathroom medicine cabinet to hang a small pair of scissors. In the process I realized that Command Strip backing strips—or refills—do expire when you keep them unused for a long time. The way you know is to gently bend them. If you hear or feel a slight snap, that means the adhesive has dried, and the entire strip is no longer usable. You can confirm by slightly peeling away either side of the backing. If it comes away easily, then that is your confirmation that the strip is not usable. Foot care. Emptied the handheld vacuum and deep-cleaned its filter, this time dry only, with an old Ikea dishwashing brush. Plant care. Vacuumed the upper level. Lunch: one sliced asian pear, cold water. Dinner at home with Patrick: slices of Green Goddess pizza from Joyride Pizza via Too Good To Go, hot water. Afterwards we walked together until we split, Patrick going to visit his mom, and me going to visit Suzan and Tim to help with technology issues again. They sent me home with a bottle of bubbly and some deliciously sweet homegrown tomatoes and the toga costume that Tim borrowed from Patrick. I washed and dried tomatoes. Patrick arrived home past his bedtime then went soon to bed. I remained up a while. Late snack: shrimp chips, dried apple rings.
