Move day from old home to new home. Breakfast: Patrick and I ate pastries from the deli section of Whole Foods. Our moving company was Pure Moving who brought four men and a large truck. Patrick left early for the new home to ensure that the reserved space on the street was free of cars. Two cars had to be towed, which we felt terrible about, but the signs had been posted for days. All small items had already been moved, including all clothing. All desks and dressers had drawers removed. It took them three hours to wrap everything in plastic wrap and blankets and load the truck. They were polite and hardworking. One of them arrived 30 minutes after the others started. Our 2000 Restoration Hardware leather couch proved to be troublesome to get through the door. We had similar trouble when bringing it in. The door had to be removed, and today they removed two of the couch's feet. Eventually they got it through. They left in the truck and a car. I rode Muni to the new address. At the Muni stop, I noticed that Muni finally installed a working display in the bus shelter. The move took about five hours total: 8:21 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Afterwards Patrick and I lunched at Fable: we shared amalfi spritzes, the fried chicken sandwich with salad, and a cobb salad. All food, drink, and service by Nipun were excellent. We returned to new home and slowly began unpacking. Dinner: leftovers.
