Small bowl of greek yogurt with one sliced banana, toasted shaved coconut, sliced and toasted almonds; hot water. Sam came over and helped Patrick and me move some boxes. Lunch at Orphan Andy's: spinach and feta omelette and coffee with creamer for Patrick, biscuits with sausage gravy and diet coke for Sam, egg and cheese with bacon on toasted bagel and lemonade for me. Service was very slow, which is their norm. All food and drink were delicious. Returned home. I removed picture hangers from walls and patched holes with spackling paste. I prepared more boxes of things for moving. Rested. Archived documents. Patrick and I walked and rode Muni to visit his mom and Kerry at their place. While waiting for Muni we noticed that there was no train predicted for a very long time. Instead of waiting what appeared to be a really long time—seemingly 30 or more minutes—we walked to West Portal Station. It took us about 15 minutes. No train passed us while we walked. At West Portal we took an M the rest of the way to Church Street Station. Along the way I realize that I had forgotten my phone at home. After visiting with Mom and Kerry, we dined at Starbelly. Patrick ordered a Smoke Show ($13, mezcal, anejo tequila, amaro, house mole bitters); I stuck with tap water. We shared: butter lettuce salad ($14, winter citrus, radish, dill and creme fraiche vinaigrette), burger and fries ($19, ground chuck beef, LTO, house pickles, starbelly sauce, ketchup). We added white cheddar to the burger for $3. There was a very long and frustrating delay receiving Patrick's cocktail and being able to place the order for our main course because our server had disappeared and could be seen chatting with other workers at the bar. We had to ask another worker to please send our waiter back, and a few minutes later he returned. I liked all the food and drink. Patrick said the burger disappointed him and that there wasn't enough beef and that our neighboring table had a burger that was larger—a difference I had not noticed. After dinner, Patrick attended a piano recital at The Academy. I barhopped, spending time mostly at Toad Hall and Hi Tops. We met at The Academy at 9:30 p.m. then walked and rode Muni home.
