Patrick and I walked and rode Muni to Wooden Spoon for brunch: we sat at one end of the communal high table in the front room and shared The Big Spoon (eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes, sourdough toast, pancakes, fruit) and the House Hash (sunny side up egg, short ribs, potatoes, spinach, pickled vegetables, whole grain mustard cream). Regular coffee for Patrick, decaf coffee for me. The decaf was French press only, and it arrived, I waited a few minutes, then pressed. When I poured, many grounds were released into the cup, so we asked our waiter to exchange it, and he did so apologetically. The next time it worked as expected. All food and drink were delicious. The food here now feels a bit too rich for me, but I can eat it if I take breaks. About $25 for each entree and $6 for each coffee = $72 after tax and tip and SF surcharge. The receipt said our server's name was Santiago F, who provided good service. Afterwards we walked in the area a bit before visiting with Kerry and Mom Ryan. Next we bought a few items at Golden Produce. We tried to go home at Church Street Station, but the wait for an L train was a disappointing 24 minutes. We left the station and walked in the neighborhood. At Castro Street Station the prediction for the L train was 6 minutes, so we entered the station. On the platform, the prediction change to 11 minutes. We rode a K train to West Portal then alighted. Then the prediction for an L train was 14 minutes. We waited 12 minutes and instead rode bus 48 and walked the rest of the way home. On bus 48 we met a woman on her way to church, but now I can't recall her name. Dinner at home with Patrick: cheesy mushroom pan pizza, sparkling water for Patrick, hot water for me. We watched various YouTube videos then The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power s2:e6 on Amazon Prime Video. I drank sparkling water with toasted marshmallow Torani. Patrick went to bed. I chatted on Zoom with Lani and Dex. Late snack: leftover pizza slice, hot water.
