Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, cacao nibs, toasted shaved coconut, sliced and toasted almonds, diced half banana; slice of autumn-spiced, frosted quick bread; hot water. Did mostly nothing all day. Lunch at home: a small bowl of leftover yellow eye beans with steamed white rice, hot water. Napped with Patrick. Cleaned the bathroom. Dinner at home with Patrick: green veggie and mushroom steamed buns with peanut cucumber noodle salad from the Millbrae farmer's market. Patrick and I attempted to ride Muni to the Castro, but at 19th and Taraval the train stopped because of an undisclosed problem. The operator was unable to proceed because another train ahead of us was stalled in the next block. After perhaps 5 or 10 minutes we abandoned Muni and rode Uber to an event at The Academy: Speakeasy Cocktail Experience, meeting Bernard there a few minutes late. Following a round of alcoholic amuse we now can't recall, Patrick and I enjoyed flights of whiskey (Patrick) and rum (me) which included three generous tastings followed by a cocktail of your choice made with one of the tastings of your choice. Bernard drank sauv blanc instead of a flight. We chatted about wine cellars, autism, dating, dating apps, IHOP, Sinead O'Connor, muscles, handwarmers, and more. At the end, following a roll of dice, we each received a lagniappe for later use. Afterwards we three walked to The Mix and mingled and crowdwatched on the patio. Late bites at Hot Johnnie's: onion rings mostly for Patrick, waffle fries mostly for me. Hot Johnnie's was closing, so we returned with our food in a paper bag and ate on the sidewalk outside The Mix. Bernard broke off with his friend Chris and others to—probably—Badlands. Patrick and I rode Uber home.
