Complimentary breakfast as part of our one-night stay at Hampton Inn Sunnyvale. A wide assortment of food and drink was available. We had raisin bran with milk, oatmeal with granola and dried cranberries, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, toast, waffles, coffee, orange juice. Afterwards we returned to the room, packed, and checked out from the app on Patrick's phone. We enjoyed our stay. Our room 530 at Hampton Inn Sunnyvale overlooked Golfland mini golf and arcade, which was charming despite the additional view of the arcade's large roof covered in duct work. Everything about this Hampton Inn seemed new. Many hotel features were unusually well thought out, including obvious light switches, soft-open and soft-close drawers and doors and toilet lids, well-placed power sockets, night lights, door lock, and more. Patrick liked the layout of the room including the desk area which he thought was good for writing. We rode Uber to Murphy Street and walked around before stopping at Philz Coffee: mocha For Patrick, coffee rosé for me. We boarded Caltrain #229 in Sunnyvale at 10:28 and rode to 22nd Street Station in San Francisco. While waiting in Sunnyvale a gaggle of geese flying and squawking overhead surprised and delighted us. The train was new and electric and very smooth compared to the old train. The trip took about 70 minutes. After alighting at 22nd Street we saw a flattened rat in the street. We waited 15 minutes. We rode Muni bus 48 to Muni J train to 16th Street then walked to Kerry and Mom Ryan's. We visited with them for about an hour. Patrick and I departed for lunch at Zona Rosa: Patrick had a bean burrito. I had two El Jefe tacos: one carne asada, the other al pastor. Topo Chico for both to drink. We walked and rode Muni home, stopping at the library because we had time to kill between transfers. Checked out Dune 2 on DVD. Unpacked and rested. Dinner at home with Patrick: Patrick had an avocado and tomato salad. I made spaghetti and linguini with asparagus and tomatoes in cheese sauce. Afterwards we watched various YouTube videos. For dessert we shared one sliced peach. Patrick went to bed. I chatted with Lani and Dex over Zoom. Researched financial institutions. Late snack: two small slices of toast with peanut butter. Water to drink. To bed late.
