Toe procedure recovery. Woke then slept in; not hungry for breakfast. Woke again then prepared for this afternoon's event. I ate a nectarine. Rode Uber to Redwood City for a retirement party for Andy T. The party was titled An Independence Celebration, and many guests did not know it was a retirement party until a few days ago. On the guest list: Aaron R, Adam E, Alberto V, Alex C, Ash M, Ben C, Ben R, Brian A, Bruce S, Casey C, Chinh T, Christof W, Clark J, Claudio R, Drew N, Eric F, Gina L, Jason H, Jason S, Jeff M, Jog Z, Jon C, Michael T, Mike B, Nicole T, Paul F, Qing W, Ryan K, Thierry B, Tony T, Torrey S. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. A grand taco bar included 15 pounds of carnitas, home-pickled red onions, lots of fixins, and vegetarian options. We drank sangria, margaritas, and flavored sodas. The weather was warm and sunny with occasional cool winds threatening to topple empty cups and to make napkins and tablecloths fly. People played cornhole on the lawn. Andy said a few brief words about his retirement, and we toasted with champagne. We met many new friends. A fine time. We rode Uber home. Dinner at home with Patrick: Patrick made a high-fiber meal with chia seeds and other ingredients. I made Trader Joe's instant chicken-flavored ramen to which I added lots of different kinds of veggies. Afterwards we watched The Bear s2:e10 (season finale) on Hulu then the remainder of our rewatching of Sebastian Maniscalco: Is It Me?. Patrick went to bed.
