Performed stretches good for the back. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, cacao nibs, toasted grated coconut, toasted sliced almonds, diced banana; hot water. Finished the wall switch plate screws repainting project. Patrick recently finished painting a reinterpretation of Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa, and I hung it in the bedroom. Patrick and I rode Muni and walked to Up Your Alley. We arrived within the first hour and donated $10 each at the gate. We shared one burrito with chips and very spicy salsa and an aranciata from Cielito Lindo. We walked entire the fair. Some booths were still setting up at noon. After leaving the fair we saw a man walking toward the fair and wearing a bright yellow shirt of a certain color which said HUMAN URINAL across the chest. We walked to Swatch where Patrick got his battery changed for free. It took about one minute. We rode Muni to the Castro and walked to Swirl. We ordered a quadronno sandwich (prosciutto, burrata, roasted tomatoes, truffle mayo), an unsweetened iced tea, and an aranciata. I paid via Toast but the sale failed to complete as expected. I went inside and learned that Swirl is run separately from the kitchen which is run by Heroic Italian. I walked to the kitchen and mentioned this to the employees, and after some discussion I paid again, and it again failed to complete. Eventually one of the employees read the order on my screen and took my order on his order-taking device after I confirmed that my card was not charged. After a reasonable amount of time our order arrived, but the iced tea was missing; he had forgotten to include it, so I had to go through the manual payment process again. We ate, drank, and left. The food was good, but the experience was terrible. I have had at least several good experiences in the past with Toast payments, so I have no idea why today it did not work. We stopped at Cliff's Variety so that Patrick could buy a tiny paintbrush. We walked to Kerry and Mom Ryan's place. Kerry took a walk while Patrick and I chatted with Mom. I was a bit tired and briefly fell asleep. After a while Kerry returned, then Patrick and I departed. We walked to the Castro. Patrick went to a poetry reading at Fabulosa Books, meeting Daniel W.K. Lee and several other writers and writing industry professionals. I sat at Philz Coffee with a medium iced chai and watched mostly tourists and locals with dogs walk past. We met and walked to Fable for a light dinner: salad with candied pecans, blue cheese, and mustard vinaigrette; bread with oil and salted butter. Patrick had a glass of white, I had a glass of rose. Sparkling water for both. We rode Muni home. We watched half of Matt Rife: Matthew Steven Rife (FULL SPECIAL) on YouTube. Patrick went to bed, and I joined a few hours later.
