Breakfast at home: egg and provolone on toasted english muffin, water. Walked and rode Muni to UCSF Laurel Heights. Sprint standup. Third attempt at requesting to be a brand admin for Qualtrics. Responded to an editing request from Ilona P. Spent most of the day reading Brad Frost's Atomic Design. HR import to Mailchimp. Siteimprove work: various tasks. Handled CGEH edits from Jennifer E, then sent the site to MSOs and Plancomm for review. More Siteimprove work. Rode UberX to the Presidio, meeting Rob, Matthew, Akemi, and Lani who were in San Francisco today for a tour of Letterman Digital Arts—a benefit of Jeremy's internship with LucasArts. I met them on Main Post Lawn near The Commissary. Rob, Matthew, and Akemi were throwing a frisbee and a ball. Lani was wandering nearby. We all briefly visited in the Futures Without Violence building an excellent exhibit called Then They Came For Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans During WWII and the Demise of Civil Liberties. We picked up Jer at Letterman then tried to find parking then dinner, first having bad luck at Dim Sum Club which was closed for vacation, then Leopold's (a bit pricey). We returned to the car and drove to Ly's Vietnamese where we ate even though Rob had some trouble finding street parking nearby. Matt had beef satay pho (spicy). Akemi had garlic noodles with imperial rolls. Lani had crab paste noodle soup and hot tea. Rob had garlic noodles with (?). I had five spice chicken pho and hot tea. Waters all around. Kiana is starting 9th grade. Matt is starting his senior year and avoiding choosing colleges. He thinks he might major in psychology or environmental science. Afterwards we parked near Swensen's and stopped for ice cream before visiting the apartment that Jer and his housemate were renting for the summer. I met Rie, Brandon, and JT. (Heidi was out.) After they finished eating ice cream we visited the roof with the panoramic view, fogged in but still beautiful. We returned to the apartment and all the housemates were singing along to modern pop songs. We chatted briefly on the phone with Kiana who stayed home for this trip. Throughout the time we spent in the minivan Akemi counted Mini Coopers with a silver counter like one might use at an admissions gate. They drove me home before continuing on to their home. Amputagged recent new purchases: maroon linen shorts, a blue woven plaid scarf, a blue and white star neck warmer, a bag in the form of a denim puppy with a zippered pouch in its back.
