Breakfast at home with Patrick: almond-banana bread; yogurt with cinnamon, pecans, and diced nectarine; 8 ounces of orange juice. Walked and rode Muni to UCSF Laurel Heights. Siteimprove work. Microsite work. Orgchart work. Handled a Google Analytics access request from Desiree for TKP. Lunch: one orange and a tiny amount of nuts and dried fruit. Late afternoon snack: a tiny piece of almond-banana bread. Rode Uber Pool to SoMa. Met Patrick for couples counseling. Rode UberX to Divisidaro for dinner at a tapas restaurant called Barvale with Patrick: valenciana (vodka, tarragon, valencia orange, cava) for Patrick, sangria (rose, blood orange, cinnamon, ginger) for me. We ordered five small plates, which was just the right amount. Two huevo guindillas (deviled eggs with guindilla), croquetas (jamon and bechamel), asparragos (grilled with poached egg, olive tapenade, and grilled bread), gambas (with garlic and lemon and grilled bread), pollo al ajo (chicken thigh stew with mushrooms and garlic-sherry jus). Patrick had another valenciana. I got a sherry (alameda, cream, sanlucar de barrameda) with our churros with chocolate dipping sauce for dessert. $110.52 before a $20 tip. Service by Magaly was very good when we saw her. She disappeared for long stretches at times. The restaurant was very busy, and it seemed like there weren't enough waitstaff, so to me this is probably more of a management issue. Food and drink were excellent.
