Breakfast: one small nectarine. Lunch at home with Patrick: supreme thin-crust pizza from frozen, hot water. Nap. Rode Muni downtown with Patrick for couples counseling, stopping at Peet's to share a caramel macchiato. Rode UberX to the Castro. Dinner at a new restaurant called Blind Butcher which is by the same owner of Lark next door. Patrick had an Almanac kolsch, I had a JP Chenet sparkling rose. We shared: proscuitto burrata, buttermilk crispy chicken with creamy mushroom, and truffle lobster mac and cheese. Dessert: chocolate salted caramel lava cake. The burrata and lobster mac and cheese were perfect. We both agreed that the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. However, Patrick found parts that were fatty and inedible that he wished had been trimmed away before cooking. I didn't find the same thing and thought the chicken was delicious. We both were disappointed by the lava cake, which had no flowing lava and was actually cold in parts. We didn't complain about anything, though. Service by multiple staff members was friendly and attentive. $99.72 after a $14 tip. Overall, a mixed result. Rode UberX home.
