Day 5 of 6 of a work trip combined with vacation to Seattle. Slept in. Tadija prepared breakfast while quantum13 did some work. Leftovers for quantum13, oatmeal with fixins for Tadija and me. quantum13 drove Tadija and me to the 20-acre Kubota Garden, which was started in 1927 by Fujitaro Kubota. I had never been before despite having lived in Seattle for 7 years. I was surprised to find that it was free to enter. We explored as much as we could, and I think we covered everything in about 75 minutes. Afterwards we walked to a nearby Starbucks located in a nearby Safeway and got beverages and rested a bit. Tadija did a bit of Safeway shopping. quantum13 picked us up in the car, and we returned to Capitol Hill. We walked to drinks and a plate of oysters at Cafe Pettirosso before an early dinner next door at Marmite: stinging nettle soup, rabbit for quantum13, lamb for Tadija, smoked salmon blinis for me. I particularly enjoyed a cocktail called chicha morada which included a visually striking and edible hibiscus flower. Afterwards we browsed outside some of the shops in the adjacent alleyway. quantum13 got some ice cream at Kurt Farm Shop. Rode UberX to the Columbia Tower and found it closed for a private event. Instead we rode UberX to Pike Place Market and had drinks and shared chocolate creme brulee at Zig Zag. When we entered, the music playing was Los Miticos del Ritmo's "Otro Muerde el Polvo" ("Another One Bites the Dust"). UberX back to their place. Tadija and I watched Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone (2019) s1:e3 and s1:e1 on Patrick's CBS All Access account.
