Portland vacation day 2 of 5. Walked to breakfast at Case Study Coffee Roasters. Stopped briefly at Fjallraven Outlet. Walked across the river to OMSI. Two adult admissions was $25 total. Quick stop for beverage at small cafe in OMSI. Rode UberX to Pok Pok—my first Uber ride in a Ram truck. Ike’s Vietnamese fish sauce wings, vietnamese coffee for Patrick, and we can't remember everything else we ate because I waited too long to do this journal entry. We enjoyed everything. $44 before a $9 tip. Walked in the Pearl District. Stopped at Nau and the two-month-old Fjallraven flagship store. We walked to Lan Su Chinese Garden (239 NW Everett Street, Portland) where we paid $10 admission each and enjoyed the beautiful gardens in intermittent rain. They had a real pig due to the Year of the Pig new year celebration. Rode UberX to Hotel deLuxe. Nap. Drinks and small bites at the Driftwood Room: Sidney Poitier for Patrick, Portland 45 for me. We shared a cheeseburger and prawn tacos. $48 before a $10 tip. Walked to Multnomah Whiskey Lounge. It was too crowded, and we didn't have a reservation, but they let us look inside, and it was very beautiful. Afterwards we wandered in downtown mostly down SW Alder. We stopped at the Sentinel and they let us wander at the ground floor and floors two through four to see the beautiful building. We wandered around the streets a bit more and then rode UberX back to Hotel deLuxe. Patrick ordered Salt and Straw delivered to the room. The flavor is almond brittle with salted ganache. We watched various things on television.
