Oatmeal and banana for breakfast. SCS meeting: Joan M and Rick S came to discuss VPN issues. The meeting went well. Staff meeting. Catching up from vacation. Lunch at desk: sandwich. Meeting with Cindy. School Plan subsite work for Susie. I got my contact lenses today from aaa-contactlensesdiscount.com. They had been delivered on Friday, July 23, over 3 weeks after I had ordered them. I opened the box and the lenses appear to be genuine and also the correct prescription. Larry never did call me back to tell me what my tracking number was. Consequently, although I won't file paperwork against them with my credit card company, I'll probably not order from them again. The boxes I got have Japanese characters all over them, so it still seems fishy to me. One box I received had a lot number of B0025KG2QL. Dinner at home with Patrick: slow-roasted salmon with a sage cream sauce, leftover red beans and rice, French bread. Tonight was a round of entertainment disasters. First we tried to watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit on DVD which we had borrowed from the library. However, about 20 or 30 minutes into it the player just got stuck—the disc was very scratched up. I washed it but it didn't help, and I didn't want to try any further solution because it wasn't our disc. So then we tried to watch Raiders of the Lost Ark, which I had taped from broadcast TV on Sunday. However, only 45 minutes were recorded—I don't know why. So we watched an episode of The Simpsons after that: Brawl in the Family—a very, very funny episode. My favorite parts were (a) the treehouse scene, and (b) when one of the Vegas women lifted her head from the pillow.
