Breakfast at home with Patrick: breakfast sandwich with egg and smoked cheddar, fruit salad, Hint. Nap. Walked about six blocks to pick up a Getaround rental with Patrick. Patrick drove us to Chris and Andy's place. We had appetizers: rum balls, peanut brittle, gummy candies, chocolate nut clusters, white wine, and lettuce wraps with finely diced radish and gruyere. Chris drove us to Filoli. We arrived a little before sunset, enjoying the gardens before exploring the house after dark had settled. Professional carolers and musicians and lots and lots of Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands set the mood for the season. We stopped for beverages: hot mulled wine for Andy and Patrick, hot spiced cider for Chris and me. We returned to their place. Rumble and (Fluffy?) emerged to dine while Chris prepared a side of potatoes and put the finishing touches on a beef stew with carrots that he had prepared earlier. Red wine, sparkling water. Afterwards they drove us to a nearby house party at Brian and Jason's. We met the dog named Coda as well as Aaron, Brad, Kim, and another Aaron. We returned to Chris and Andy's then Patrick drove him and me home in the Getaround. Gas was $15.
