Gym. Rode UberX to brunch at Antoine's. Appetizers: crawfish bisque for Patrick; strawberry, walnut, and blue cheese salad for me. Mains: shrimp and grits for Patrick, eggs sardou for me. Dessert: bread pudding for Patrick, cheesecake for me. I had the three-course special menu for Sunday Jazz Brunch. Free glass of mimosa each. Jazz was provided by two men playing instruments and a woman singer singing songs like Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans and Fly Me To The Moon. We walked through some of the other rooms, examining the collected artifacts over the restaurant's grand history, including a large ashtray collection. Walked back to Melrose Mansion along Royal Street, stopping here and there, including Savon, where a salesperson treated my hands with magnesium and some kind of cream which I didn't like because it made my hands feel greasy. Encountered and stopped to listen to Bon Bon Vivant, a gypsy jazz band, playing a great rendition of Robyn's "Dancing on My Own." Rested and changed. Walked to CC's for a iced tea for me. Continued walking to the Decadence Walking Parade, eventually stopping to watch at Dauphine and St. Ann. We enjoyed seeing all the different groups and the grand marshalls. Walked Dauphine to Melrose Mansion, stopping for iced teas at a corner grocery called Matassa's. Rested and showered. Walked along Rampart, which has improved significantly since Patrick's childhood, including the Rampart street car line. Dinner at The Bombay Club: Drinks: Sazerac for Patrick, Swizzle It for me. Appetizer: we shared a boudin scotch egg. Mains: papparadelle with cauliflower and a glass of malbec for Patrick, gulf fish with dirty chorizo rice and broccolini. No dessert. Walked back to Melrose Mansion.
