LLGH project work: business card, font management. Began building a disk image from my old Font Folio 8 cdrom because I was afraid the cdrom was failing. Set up the Zojila Rohan dish rack. Pre-brunch: one pear. Rode Muni to Powell Street Station, walked to the new Apple Store at 300 Post Street, arrived a few minutes before it opened. Danny met me there and we browsed inside and out, and I took a lot of photos. The building is an architectural wonder. Giant glass doors open, making the sidewalk and store one. Staircases on the left and right take you to an upper level. (I presume an elevator is available, but I did not see any sign of one.) The entire store has light fixtures but it seems that it would still be filled with light without them. Greenery lines the sidewalks on two sides as well as inside in the back and on the back patio which was not yet open to the public. Not all the construction is 100% complete. I saw a few silver-colored panels missing, the stairs around the Ruth Asawa fountain doesn't merge perfectly or look correct, work is still being done on the patio's plant wall. On the upper level a giant wall display is clearly visible despite all the natural light pouring into the building, and a woman using an iPad (Pro?) was painting while we watched her work appear on the gigantic screen—amazing. Upstairs tables have panels for power and ethernet, but I couldn't figure out how to open them until a sales clerk assisted me. To open or close the panel, place your hand flat on the table to the left of the panel, then drag your hand across the table down and to the right, ending at the center spot just below the panel. (It's easier to see done than to describe.) A motor opens and closes the panel, but if items are plugged in, it knows to not close the panel. Later Patrick noted that the store is probably interesting to see at night as well. Afterwards Danny and I walked to City View and ate dim sum. For dessert we tried something I don't recall trying before: green tea mousse with chocolate dragees. It's not too sweet and not too green-tea-y. Refreshing. Then we rode Lyft Line to Dolores Park chatting with the driver and two other riders. We sat at the top of the park for a while enjoying the partly cloudy skies with sunbreaks and gentle, cool breezes. We then walked to Bi-Rite. Danny got two cupcakes for Drew and a chocolate-vanilla soft serve cone for himself. We walked to Fayes for a cafe au lait for me. We sat outside Fayes for a while, then Danny returned home. I walked in the Castro shopping and windowshopping before riding Muni L home. Unloaded, organized, edited, and uploaded photos. Reviewed photos with Patrick. Dinner at home with Patrick: Blue Apron red curry and coconut shrimp stir-fry with rice noodles and pea shoots. Completed the Mac Font Folio 8 disk image, then did the Windows one as well. Folded laundry, paid bills.
