Place an order of 1 license of Panic Coda for Eric. Office potluck, interrupted by the fire alarm. Let student AD borrow our office flipcam for the orientation camping trip. Responded to lots of message traffic about information security, what we should tell students, and whether we trust Apple regarding encryption in iPhone 3GS and the security in general of older models. Asked Heidi S about CAS as a possible single sign-on solution for UCSF. Set up a Twitter account for the school. Alerted students to iPhone compatibility problems with the UCSF Exchange mail server and the fact that Apple has not yet responded to 7-week-old claims that the iPhone 3GS is insecure from a real-world perspective. Dinner at home with Patrick: chicken confit, salad with heirloom tomatoes, dinner roll, Smart Balance Light. Dessert: strawberries and powdered sugar.
