Breakfast at home: one egg and sausage patty with yellow sharp cheddar on Model Bakery english muffin; yogurt with blueberries, mexican vanilla, half banana, toasted coconut, flax meal, roasted and slivered almonds; hot water. Replaced some slow device chargers with faster chargers at the living room couch. Prepared old drawer pulls for sale. Lunch: I prepared for myself a turkey and smoked gouda sandwich on whole wheat with lettuce and mayo, hot water. Research for purchasing a new kitchen faucet. Nap. Walked and rode Muni and BART to dinner at Burdell. Patrick had been wanting to try this Southern restaurant for a while. Joining us were Mark H, Tommy H, Adrian C, JY, and Hap B. Prix fixe family meal: boiled peanuts (with peanut miso and house spice), pimiento cheese on ritzy crackers, chilled kusshi oysters on the half shell (with chow chow dressing), summer melon and cucumber salad (with brokaw avocado and herbs), cornbread (stone-milled yellow corn, served warm with tangy honey butter), smothered rabbit (leek and white pepper gravy, spring onion), Roscoe's whipped potatos (with lots of butter), tomato-stewed pole beans, and for dessert, buttermilk panna cotta with strawberry lemonade Italian ice. We added to the family meal two orders of chicken liver and waffles (chicken liver mousse with crispy skin, maple and shallot vinaigrette, cornmeal waffle). We talked about Bakesale Betty's, Southern food vs New Orleans food, Gay Days at Disneyland, improv class, HubSpot, The Gilded Age, Deadwood, Top chef, Hollywood, Warrior, Foundation, The Bird Cage, historical fiction, friends having a tough year, introversion, Guerneville, physicians who don't trust sunscreen, and more. JY and Adrian gave us a ride home. To bed.
