Breakfast at home with Patrick: Patrick had oatmeal with diced half peach. I had a poppy seed bagel with cream cheese and sliced half peach. Hot water to drink. Mounted the magnetic Mundial knife rack that failed to mount properly yesterday. Today it held better. The left side with WetNFix and without an anchor held better than the right side with WetNFix and an anchor. It's still a tad insecure on the right side, but I think it will hold for at least a few weeks. Did more research on using a clear gloss spray enamel to protect a new metal trash can from rust. The instructions to say to use it only when humidity is less than 65%. I guess I will have to wait for a September or October afternoon? Maybe a really warm day could work as well. So frustrating to have to wait that long. Walked and rode Muni to Recharge Medical. Continued resolving online presence issues. Lunch with Drew and Tai at Cordon Bleu Restaurant (415-673-5637, 1574 California Street, cash only). I had #5. They shared #5. We shared a side of broccoli. Hot tea for all. All food and drink were delicious. A #5 plate is huge. It includes five-spice chicken on the bone, a lot of rice, meat gravy on top of the rice, several pieces of bbq pork (which they call 1 shish kebab), one (8-inch?) imperial roll, country salad, and nuoc mam. I took leftovers back to the office. Continued rewriting the I-693 page, including using ChatGPT to rewrite it for a second-grade reading level in order to make it easier for people for whom English is not their first language and to make it easier to translate to other languages. Walked and rode Muni home. Napped. Dinner at home with Patrick: Delfina frozen pizza from Epicurean Trader, hot water. Today Patrick completed repotting of several houseplants and installed one in a golden planter in the dining room. Another one was hung in the macrame plant hanger in the primary bathroom. We prepared linens for a house guest. I processed dirty dishes and cleaned in the kitchen. Patrick and I attended Spencer and Brock at The Academy, an event with Dee Spencer and Jason Brock entertaining us with song and music. We don't recall the exact order of the songs, but we remember these: L-O-V-E, All The Man That I Need, Patrick suggested Patti LaBelle's On My Own, Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me, My Guy, Gimme a Break. They took a break before continuing: Total Eclipse of the Heart, New York State of Mind. There was a lot of trouble with the microphone and sound system—crackley or reverby—and part of the show was done without microphone or sound system. Jason Brock sounded as great as we remember and made us laugh with jokes and witty turns of lyrics. Don Berger of Regency Limousine, limo driver for many celebrities, was in attendance, same like the last time we saw Dee and Jason perform in December 2018, and he told a few jokes which made us all laugh. Patrick and I enjoyed cocktails during the evening. Walked home.
