Anaheim trip day 2 of 3. After less than an hour of being awake I was surprised to hear and learn that it began raining at around 7:00 am. Rob, Kiana, and Akemi arrived around 10:15 a.m., and we all began purging and cleaning all kinds of unneeded things. Another very hot day in the 90s. Alex arrived a little before we broke for lunch at Pho Banh Mi Che Cali. I had bun bo xao and one veggie egg roll and peach tea (sweet but just right). Akemi had hong kong style noodles with thai tea. Lani had bun with pork, shrimp, and egg roll with oolong iced tea (sweet but just right). Kiana shared from Akemi's and Lani's dishes and also had green thai tea (which Lani tasted and described as grassier and lighter than thai tea). Rob had grilled pork bahn mi with green thai tea. Alex did not eat because he was imminently going to be called away to an appointment. Afterwards Alex left us, and the rest of us split up with Lani and Akemi getting gas for the car and Rob, Kiana, and I walking across the street to Target. The gas line at Costco was unbearable, so they abandoned that effort and soon joined us at Target. I bought some oatmeal. We regrouped then returned home. More cleaning and purging: refrigerator and more. At a break some of us looked through old yearbooks and other memorabilia. Rob got working a tennis-racquet-like bug zapper which we used with alarm and delight to kill flies and mosquitoes. Later Anne and Dave stopped by to pick up an air conditioner that had stopped working. Later: dinner brought by Ah-bing, Kim, Carol, and Jeanne: pumpkin salad, green beans, ribs, mi fun, sticky rice, iced tea. Dessert: sarsparilla floats. Everyone departed, leaving Lani and me. I purchased my return flight. To bed late—2 a.m.
