Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, cacao nibs, toasted slivered almonds, toasted shaved coconut, diced half banana; hot water. Patrick and I rode Muni to Castro Street station. Pastries and coffee drinks at Poesia Cafe: pecan and caramel roll, vanilla and custard croissant, and another whose name we don't recall but it was a chocolate muffin topped with crunchy balls. The vanilla and custard croissant was the best of this bunch. This was our first time eating and drinking here. Afterwards we visited Patrick's mom while Kerry stepped out for a walk in the park. Next we drank aperol spritzes at The Pilsner Inn. The back patio was surprisingly clear, warm, and sunny, and Patrick sat in the shady part. Next we lunched at Los Amigos (2295 Market Street). It was our first time dining at this newish Salvadoran restaurant. Patrick had two kinds of pupusa with coffee and water. I had grilled shrimp with rice, beans, and one tortilla. We enjoyed the meal. No other restaurant in this area has the pleasure of these big windows through which to watch passersby, and we haven't eaten in this space in a very long time. On the way to Castro Street station we encountered a terrific busker (named Cedric?) playing electronic guitar. Rode Muni home, where it was overcast, cold, and very foggy. Later Patrick and I dined at home on leftovers. Patrick's: squid ink spaghetti with tuna, tomato, and capers sauce. Mine: I sauteed green onions and frozen vegetables and mixed that with leftover quinoa. Water to drink. Patrick washed dishes. We watched Beef s1:e5 on Netflix instant watch. Patrick went to bed. Continued reading and taking notes from Priya Parker's The Art of Gathering. Late snack: cashews.
