Staycation day 2 of 16. Ran in place while watching Herzog and de Meuron: Tate Modern by Beat Kuert and supplied by Dust and Scratches on Kanopy. I had to stop after 15 minutes; it was too meditative, too odd, and too experimental in what was possible with video editing tools, and it seemed to be all about Schaulager instead of Tate Modern? The interface for scrubbing on Kanopy on Apple TV did not include thumbnails, so I did not bother trying to find out if it did include anything about Tate Modern. Instead I ran in place while watching two-thirds of Deconstructivist Architects on Kanopy. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, cacao nibs, slivered and toasted almonds, golden raisins; water. Patrick made cream biscuits this morning, and we each ate one with butter soon after they emerged from the oven. I listened to Total SF podcasts. Lunch at home with Patrick: linguica with two sunny-side-up eggs and a slice of twisty herbed cheesy bread and water for Patrick; leftover lasagne pumpkin roll and water for me. In the afternoon we rode Muni to the Mission and bought pan de muerto from La Mejor, receiving a cookie decorated as a ghost as a laignappe. We walked in the Mission district a bit before meeting Chris and Andy at Casements (2351 Mission St). A live music performance on the charming back patio was imminent, but we had arrived too late and all the seating was taken. We instead sat indoors near the front. Drinks: Peas for Bees for Andy, Lunasa Old Fashioned for Patrick, Hot Toddy for Chris, Paying Our Dews for me. Small bite: Granny Reynolds soda bread with herb butter. We walked to dinner at Limon Rotisserie. Drinks: Chicha Morada (purple corn, pineapple, and spices) for Patrick, El Capitan (Banhez mezcal artesanal, yellow Chartreuse liqueur, fresh squeezed orange juice, Hawaiian black salt) for ?, and Diosa Tropical margarita (100% blue agave Camarena tequila, blood orange purée, coconut cream, Hawaiian black salt) for me. Appetizer: ceviche trio (Mixto in Rocoto leche de tigre, Pescado in clásico leche de tigre, Camarón in Ají Amarillo leche de tigre). Main: Parrillada Platter: grilled flatiron steak with Cabernet demi glace, Andouille sausage, anticuchos de pollo, roasted chimichurri potatoes, grilled asparagus, anticuchera and ají amarillo sauce. Dessert: we shared one tres leches cake. All food, drink, and service was excellent. They had not yet been to Urban Putt, so afterwards we walked the one block and browsed so they could see its wonders but did not stay to play. They gave us a ride home in a new red car. A fine evening.
