Slept in. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, toasted and slivered almonds, toasted shredded coconut, and diced peach; water. Patrick and I visited the Sunset Mercantile farmer's market. We snacked on a flat latte from Sunset Roasters and malasadas from Ocean Malasada: one mango and one haupui—all delicious. We bought a bunch of peaches from Thao Family Farm and a set of frozen Chinese buns from BunBao. I stopped at the hardware store. Patrick stopped at Grubbin for a sandwich. Home. For lunch Patrick had a spicy chicken sandwich, and I had the remaining third of my burrito from yesterday. Milk tea for Patrick. Water for me. More organizing and room redesign in the small bedroom. I tried resolving a problem with capturing keystrokes on my journal website to implement a few keyboard shortcuts—still not yet successful. Dinner at home with Patrick: six steamed BunBao buns: bok choy, pork and shrimp, teriyaki chicken, traditional char siu pork, red bean, egg custard (lava). All the buns were delicious, and we were impressed by the quality. They didn't fall apart when you picked them up. The fillings were evenly distributed within. The bun was light, spongy, and evenly colored. The fillings were perfectly prepared. Even the teriyaki flavor was subtle and not sickly sweet as some teriyaki sauces can be. The red bean bun had a decorative panda face design on top. In all, a very nice discovery. Afterwards we rewatched Everything, Everywhere, All at Once on Netflix DVD until the 1h:24m mark. Patrick made for himself Martha Stewart's Movie-Theater-Style Popcorn. During a break I washed dishes. Afterwards, Patrick went to bed. I washed more dishes then continued my journal website work. What finally worked was David Mauro's Keypress script. I had to wrap the example code like this: document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function(event) { EXAMPLECODEGOESHERE }); as suggested by Ozzy Walsh in "JS Input keypress event - Cannot read property 'addEventListener' of null [duplicate]" on Stack Overflow. Pushed these changes live. This resolves a problem in my journal in which you begin a selection of text with your pointer and then expand it with the Shift key and left or right arrow keys. Also upgraded jQuery at the same time.
