Slept in. Late breakfast: medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, flax meal, cacao nibs, roasted walnuts, and sliced half banana; water; Community Coffee Mardi Gras King Cake-flavored hot coffee (caffeinated) with milk. Rode Muni to Stanyan and Haight. Lunch by myself at What the Cluck: crispy chicken with brown rice and sliced cucumber, ice water. The meal was delicious. The sweet and sour sauce was a bit spicy but I was able to tolerate it. They called it brown rice, but it seemed more like a red and brown rice blend. Walked to Golden Gate Park to visit the AIDS Memorial Quilt, where I encountered Natasha L and chatted briefly. She had brought her mom. While walking through the 3,000 panels, a steady heavy mist fell. The weather report this morning did not predict this precipitation, and few of the hundreds of visitors were prepared; I counted only three umbrellas. Afterwards I attempted to use the free Golden Gate Shuttle but a driver at McLaren Lodge wouldn't permit me to board. When I walked to the nearest stop, the same shuttle pulled up at it about a few seconds before I arrived. I just walked instead, taking photos and uploading them to Instagram along the way. Rested at the concourse where I heard an all-saxophone band play an unfinished Souza piece that was intended for an all-saxophone band. The conductor finished its composition and we heard it for the first time. Rode Muni home, which took a long time because two busses in a row failed to appear on schedule. Dinner at home with Patrick: slow-cooker Creole beef stew, water, red wine. I washed dishes. Dessert: pre-made almond flour cookies from a plastic tube. I had only one cookie. Four ounces of milk each. Afterwards we finished watching Magic Mike on Netflix DVD then we watched Avery Dixon's audition on America's Got Talent then we watched more of Bo Burnham's THE INSIDE OUTTAKES. Patrick went to bed. I washed more dishes.
