Ran in place while continuing to play Frogger in Toy Town. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, sliced banana, Uncle Sam cereal, water. Cleaned in the bathroom. Cut my hair, showered. Vacuumed. Rode Muni to the Castro. Bus was not on time and was crowded upon arrival. Walked in the Castro. Rode Muni 24 and 5 and walked to the de Young Museum for Judy Chicago's Forever de Young performance art with non-toxic smoke in various colors. Hundreds of people turned out for the event. Patrick met me there. We happened to be in the path of the smoke, and for a minute or so we were completely enveloped. The wind shifted a bit and then we were able to see a little better. From where we were the colors melded and swirled not necessarily in interesting or beautiful patterns, but it was definitely a unique experience nonetheless. Afterwards we walked to 9th and Irving and browsed available restaurants and settled on Sunflower Garden. We started with two thai iced teas and bbq beef spring rolls. Patrick had bun with imperial rolls and five-spice chicken, I had pho with wontons, shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. The food is delicious. Sunflower Garden is a really good value. I think they were supposed to confirm COVID-19 vaccination cards but they did not. We walked to 9th and Judah and rode UberX home from there. Muni has been frustratingly unreliable today. If a bus doesn't appear on time, it likely means that when it finally does appear it will be crowded. For this ride home the bus actually turned out to be seven minutes earlier than the prediction, so we ended up spending money on UberX when we didn't have to mostly because the prediction was wrong. For the last few blocks our Uber ride actually followed directly behind the bus. We would have saved $22 if we had better predictions and reliability. So frustrating.
