Ran in place to Apple News Today and Fifth and Mission podcasts then Bill Vicars on YouTube. Sprint standup. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, cinnamon, and sliced banana; water. D8 work all day. 1:1 with Eric. Lunch at home: half order of leftover split peas and bacon, medium salad with lemon poppyseed dressing, water. Continued playing Where Cards Fall. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, pumpkin pie spice, and blueberries; water. Read CSS Layout News 295. Began work on a Qualtrics survey for Eric: telework. Attended two UCSF town halls: Time of Remembrance then the COVID-19: The Path Forward. Dinner at home with Patrick: New York Times' cast-iron pan pizza, this time with all-purpose flower instead of Caputo 00. Toppings were marinara, sauteed mushrooms, arugula, grated mozzarella. Patrick described the Caputo 00 version as "more Italian, more like focaccia" and the all-purpose flour version as "still like focaccia but more American." Patrick washed dishes. Cocktails over Zoom with Chris and Andy: we drank mezcal margaritas, they drank red wine. We used the trial version of an app called Camo to improve video quality by using my iPhone 12 mini as a webcam connected to my MacBook Pro. It worked as expected in only 8 minutes of setup. (I think I had to quit and restart Zoom for it to see the new webcam device since I started Zoom before Camo.) We chatted about San Pellegrino flavored sparkling sodas, COVID-19 vaccines and the states of our worlds, pizza, cocktails, Maui, and Anza-Borrego before separately watching a documentary about Flannery O'Connor on PBS that we had thought was going to be presented live but which seemed to turn out to stream on demand. Patrick got too tired to finish it, though, so we'll continue another evening. I washed dishes then did some tidying and trash management. Late snack: mixed vegetables from frozen, water. Encountered again the problem of my Esc key failing to work because of BetterTouchTool. Had to restart the computer.
