Patrick got a Getaround car. We drove to Stonestown Galleria to run an errand at the Apple Store, taking in my 2012 MacBook Air with a swollen battery. We arrived a few minutes early for a 5:45 pm appointment and waited about 15 minutes for our genius. The laptop was too old to have its battery replaced, and I had decided earlier that if Apple would not replace the battery I would recycle it since I did not want to deal with potentially problematic third-party batteries. They also took for recycling the one MagSafe power adapter I had brought but gave me back the small, detachable piece where it plugs into the wall on the rationale that it can still be used with other similar chargers. I mentioned that my iPhone X yesterday started saying it needed battery service, so despite this not being mentioned when I made my appointment they had enough time in my appointment to look at that as well. They offered to repair the battery. My phone was still under AppleCare+ and it would cost $69 and would take a little over an hour. We extended our Getaround return time and agreed since we needed to dine soon anyway. We wanted to eat at Blaze Pizza until we saw the long line. At Rooster and Rice we each got The Original and a bottled thai iced tea. We sat in a specially arranged outdoor section of the parking lot with a covered tent, handwash stations, and trash cans. The weather was warm and comfortable, and the air was still with occasional light breezes. We walked in the mall just to walk and after a while we returned to the Apple Store. My phone was not ready yet due to some mechanical issues, and we were asked to return in 20 minutes. We walked more inside and a little bit outside and returned after 20 minutes. It still wasn't ready. I was told that my battery replacement would be provided free of charge due to the wait, and I was appreciative. It took another 20 minutes before it was done and we could leave, getting the Getaround rental back with a few minutes to spare. Patrick went to bed. Medium bowl of oatmeal with milk, cinnamon, dried tart cherry.
