Ran in place to part of Silver Falls State Park 4k Virtual Hike via The Flying Dutchman on YouTube. Breakfast at home with Patrick. Patrick had yogurt with dried banana, dried pineapple, dessicated coconut, pepitas, almonds, cinnamon. I had oatmeal with milk, dessicated coconut, dried pineapple; water. Continued reading the proof that UGA sent to Patrick for If We Were Electric and combing it for errors. Folded laundry that Patrick had washed earlier. Boiled macaroni while Patrick prepared shakshuka for us for lunch. Continued reading from If Our Bodies Could Talk by James Hamblin. Lunch: shakshuka with broccolini, mine with macaroni; sparkling water for Patrick, tap water for me. Errands: mailed a Netflix disc, attempted to return a book to the library but the drop slot was closed, groceries at Safeway. This was my first time leaving the apartment since the evening of March 12. Streets were mostly deserted of cars and pedestrians. Muni was running, but I walked the whole way there and back. In Safeway I encountered and chatted briefly with Lexi who lives kind of nearby. The store had lots of empty shelves, notably toilet paper. I couldn't find fast-acting yeast or baking yeast of any kind. Checkout lines had tape on the ground to mark the six feet of social distancing—now physical distancing—that was widely recommended. I used hand sanitizer after entering our phone number to get the Safeway club card discount. Patrick had told me that they weren't letting people use their own bags, but I was asked if I wanted a bag, so maybe that wasn't happening consistently. Very light rain fell during my journey, but I never felt like I needed an umbrella. Nap. Dinner at home with Patrick: leftovers. Watched The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance s1:e1 on Netflix instant watch with Patrick. Watched various clips on YouTube with Patrick. Patrick went to bed. I washed dishes.
