Breakfast at home with Patrick: yogurt with pecans and cinnamon, warmed blueberry muffin. Walked and rode Muni to UCSF Laurel Heights. Sprint standup. Content work: began improving the TRANSPERS in the News page by transcribing videos and providing structured headings and other page edits. No lunch. Rode Muni to early dinner at Aziza with Patrick. Aziza reopened in either October (says Eater SF) or November (says our server) after being closed for several years. It has been fully remodeled and is brighter than before with more modern decor such as leather and metal chairs and basket pendant lamps with tubular, antique bulbs. Sparkling water for Patrick, still water for me. Cocktails: Flavor Basket for Patrick (uncle val's gin, Italicus bergamotto, aquavit, orgeat, lime, peychauds), Golden Boy for me (machetazo espadin mezcal, kina l'aero d'or, pedro ximinez aurora, brovo #1 amoro). We shared: moroccan bread with spreads (butter bean with mergeuz, pequillo-almond, dill-lebni-roe), roasted prawns with red charmoula and harissa on the side, hand-rolled couscous with aged butter, beef tagine with spiced root vegetable jam, preserved apricot, almond. Fes Fizz for Patrick (gordon's gin, genepi, giffard aperitif syrup, tamarind, black lemon, soda, egg white). Dessert: chocolate cake with praline cream, chicory, and preserved lemon; espresso for Patrick; glass of Broadbent 5-year madeira for me. Food and drink were all excellent. Service by Silvana was excellent. $178.88 before a $32 tip. Rode UberX home.
