Drinks: Prairie Standard farmhouse ale ($9) for Patrick, glass of Uliz Mondeuse ($15) for me. $75 per person tasting menu: polenta bread with salted butter; deviled egg (dolcini farm egg, fresno chile relish, marash pepper and spice, notably very spicy) for Patrick, chilled squid ink noodles (cortez bottarga, fennel vinaigrette, lemon agrumato) for me; tartlets with fromage blanc and cherry tomatoes; heirloom tomato salad (crispy butter bean, cucumber, sambal, toasted garlic and anchovy); duck liver mousse (with strawberry jam, medjool date, fennel pollen, seeded lavash); pappardelle (with summer squash and squash blossoms, corn romesco, genovese basil, pecorino di filiano); king salmon (with blistered blue lake bean, new potato, dill, cherry tomato, remoulade); wagyu beef (aka grilled petit filet, with nardello pepper, smoky eggplant, lacinato kale, fig, sesame). Desserts: fennel ice cream almond cake, chocolate ice cream and cocoa meringue. For Patrick only: espresso ($3.50). $242.22 after a $40 tip. Service by Stephen was excellent. Rode UberX home.
