Breakfast: one Peruvian murcott. Brunch: leftover meatballs with leftover fusilli. Rode Muni to Embarcadero Street Station with Patrick. We walked to and visited Salesforce Park at the Transbay Terminal. It's a very pleasant space, and I was very impressed with what seems to be a very generous and well-designed gift to the people of San Francisco. Patrick noted that despite being a public space there seemed to be no issues with homeless people. His favorite part was the monkey puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana). During our visit we encountered a number of staffpersons, and some of them answered questions for us. Afterwards we considered brunching at Yank Sing on Stevenson Street then changed our minds and instead ate at Sears Fine Food because Patrick wanted diner food. Patrick had coffee with Al's Special (two eggs ordered over medium, corned beef hash, nine little pancakes, hash browns), I had hot water with Southern Corned Beef Hash and Eggs (with hash browns and toast). $40.86 before a $7.50 tip. Afterwards we visited Sunday Streets SoMa, walking along Folsom Street almost the entire length. Then we walked to the Castro, stopping at Turner's Kitchen along the way for beverages. I stopped at Cliff's then Hortica then again at Cliff's, finally buying two pieces of pottery for our orchids. Encountered Ray and Nicos in the Castro, then again encountered Ray on the train home, chatting briefly. Ray departed at West Portal Station. Walked and rode Muni home. Patrick showered then napped, then later I napped as well. Dinner at home with Patrick: leftover meatballs and polenta with some fresh sauce, side salad with croutons, Hint cherry.
