No breakfast. Walked and rode Muni to UCSF Laurel Heights. Followup with Qualtrics theming inquiry. Reported false positive broken links to Siteimprove. For some 403 errors they said to just ignore them since those sites were blocking their bots. Followup with CGEH launch. Siteimprove work: encouraging people to remove CVs in PDF form and instead link to UCSF Profiles. Attempted to lunch at the JCC and found that the cafe has closed. They are planning to reopen with another vendor. Lunch at Smokin' Warehouse Barbecue. I knew I had had a mediocre experience at this restaurant in the past, but I thought I'd give them another try. I had the brisket sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese had good flavor and texture but the pasta was too soft, almost smooshy. It seems like they cook the mac and cheese with an essence of jalapeno oil, not enough to be spicy, but it's distinctly there. Parts of the mac and cheese were unpleasantly hardened, as though it hadn't regularly been stirred while sitting on a burner. The sandwich was extremely disappointing. The bun was submarine-style, sesame-coated, and perfectly toasted. The brisket was piled on generously and in chunks so large that I decided I could not eat it with my hands—too messy. The brisket was not tender at all, and the flavorful and just-the-right-tang bbq sauce seemed to have been put on at the end rather than cooked through during the cooking process. Nothing else was included in the sandwich—no lettuce, tomato, mayo. I threw half of it in the trash. Service at the counter was exceptionally pleasant by today's standards. My stomach felt queasy for the next hour. Followup with Robert C about the OSACA's permissions problems with a server folder. Read RGD Ontario's Access Ability: A Practical Handbook on Accessible Graphic Design (free pdf). Rode Uber Pool to SoMa. Met Patrick for couples counseling. Rode UberX to the Castro. Dinner at Hi Tops with Patrick: Boylan cola for Patrick, busta move cocktail and water for me. We shared a chicken burger (the sauce is just a little too spicy for me) with fries and a half order of nachos. The nachos come with sliced jalapenos which we forgot to ask them to omit. We had too much food (as I had predicted); we finished the burger and fries but ate less than half the nachos—too full. Rode UberX home. Watched Anjelah Johnson's TED talk on YouTube with Patrick.
