Light breakfast at home: leftover beef pot roast, water. Rode UberX to UCSF Laurel Heights. Sprint standup. Microsites identity retheme work: styling. Helped Katherine K with the testing process. Helped Erika C with some editing issues in Experiential. Snack: two mandarin oranges, two pouches of granola bites. Calpoison content strategy Zoom meeting with Eric, Dana, and Judy. Reviewed some presentations from BADCamp earlier this year. Read The Vignelli Canon in PDF. Muni timings were terrible today with me missing every bus by a minute or two on my usual route at every stop and transfer so instead I took alternate routes. Long wait for a 1 or 1BX so I rode Muni 2 to 6th and Clement. Ten-minute wait for the 28R one block away and a 44 just arrived, so I rode the 44 to 9th and Judah. Eighteen-minute wait for the 66, so I waited five minutes and rode the 6 to 14th and Quintara, walked down the steps, missed the 48 at 17th and Quintara by two minutes with no 48 or 66 coming in the next ten minutes so I walked the rest of the way home. Dropped off my bag and refreshed. Rode UberX with Patrick to dinner at Alba Ray's (415-872-9409, 2293 Mission Street). We didn't realize it until after we had ordered, but this became an all-fried meal, taking moderation in moderation. Absinthe Suissesse for Patrick. We shared spoon bread, boudin balls, popcorn shrimp, fried chicken, and beignets. Patrick had a cafe au lait at the end. $71.07 before a $14 tip. We walked to a performance of The Golden Girls Live: The Christmas Episodes at the Victoria Theatre (2961 16th Street) starring Heklina (Dorothy), Matthew Martin (Blanche), D'Arcy Drollinger (Rose), and Holotta Tymes (Sophia) and featuring special guest stars Manuel Caneri and Nancy French with Tom Shaw on the piano. We arrived early and purchased cocktails and popcorn. The seats were comfortable, though the tightness of the seat rows just barely permitted Patrick's long legs to fit. No cupholders made it very tricky to negotiate frequently sitting and standing to permit others to enter the row while holding a drink, napkins, the program, coats, and the other belongings one might have brought, but we managed without spilling anything. Souvenir sippy cups helped. Petrillo Potion for Patrick, a drink containing Fireball for me. The performance included two episodes, which Patrick says matched pretty closely to the television episodes. Instead of commercial breaks we were treated to fun, sing-along Christmas favorites on piano by Tom Shaw. The performance had many hilarious moments, and a good time was had by all. We encountered Stephen G who had attended because his friend Howard had an extra ticket, and I met and chatted with them for a while. Rode UberX home.
