Day 5 of poor air quality due to the Camp Fire. UCSF holiday. Breakfast at home with Patrick: scrambled eggs with thyme, half english muffin, leftover breakfast hash, 8 ounces of orange juice. Spent an hour in online chat with iDrive. A support technician and his supervisor were both unable to help me resolve a problem which I have only with iDrive: duplicate mount points keep appearing. As I continued troubleshooting on my own, I realized that lots of documentation on the web presume that your duplicate mount points are for a drive physically connected to your computer or server but I was encountering it with a network drive. The solution I came up with is slightly different. Step 1: cd /Volumes. Step 2: sudo umount [drivename]*. Step 3: df. Step 4: check that the drive name no longer appears in the df result. If so: Step 5: rm [drivename]* should be safe to do. Step 6: remount the problematic drive as you normally would. Late lunch at home with Patrick: four-cheese mac and cheese with bbq chicken, 8 ounces of orange juice. Rode UberX with Patrick to couples counseling. Rode UberX to dinner with Patrick at Hi Tops: killer nachos half, Stella for Patrick, Joe Cool for me. Rode UberX home. Patrick recently started a new calendar.
