Coffee at home. Our group of nine breakfasted at Croissant d'Or, with most of us each having an egg and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich. Danny had a coconut macaroon. Paul took us to Spitfire Coffee which was closed. At Queork Romy bought shoes. Paul took us to the Hermann-Grima house which was closed. We encountered the tail of a wedding procession that ended at the Omni Royale. We had beignets and iced cafe au laits at Cafe du Monde. We visited Jackson Square for an air-conditioning and restroom break and for Paul's souvenir penny. We rode Steamboat Natchez for the jazz-only 2:30 pm departure. We acquired valuable seats at a table inside one of the bars for the first half of the trip. During the trip a thunderstorm occurred with much lightning and thunder. We emerged after the rain mostly stopped then wandered the decks. After we returned to land Romy stopped briefly at CVS, then I purchased a hot air balloon mobile at A Simpler Time. We stopped for a short while at St. Louis Cathedral mass. Romy left the group to pick up the shoes he bought at Queork. We all returned to the house. We met some of our downstairs neighbors: Tobin, Ernest, Troy, and Scott. Phil brought home a king cake even though it's not Mardi Gras. Danny brought home Popeye's for dinner and also prepared sticky rice. Friends of Paul named Felipe and James arrived and hung out with us a while as we watched partygoers in the street and threw beads. We walked Bourbon Street and barhopped variously through the evening and night, stopping at home occasionally for rest. I met Jason, Hector, Tony, Hector, Adam, Tim. To bed very late.
