Woke at 5 am, got out of bed at 6 am, took scenery photos from the deck. stretches. mostly jogged alawai along the canal to the kapiolani end then mostly walked back, enjoyed obseerving different kinds of pretty birds along the way. complimentary chilled apple (very crisp) and iced tea. i thought at first sweetened but realized it said pineapple iced tea—tasty. shower. picked up a beach towel from the front desk. shopped at various convenience stores nearby to see what was available where, bought some brunch items, got cash from an atm. walked to waikiki beach, suntanned for a few hours. brunch: salmon musubi, kahlua pig yakisoba, bottled water. i don't recall having musubi before. i didn't undertand how to assemble it at first but eventually figured it out. i was disappointed because i was expecting more salmon, whole not chopped. i didn't realize it would be mostly rice and salmon salad instead of sliced pieces. back to the hotel, buying a few more items along the way, including a small pina Colada icee ($1.29). shower. nap. walked to side street inn, which was a little hard to find because it's in a building that looks like an office building. richard drove us to his hotel. Walked to wang chung's where others sang for several hours. Some went home, some of us walked to Hula's for drinks and dancing for about two hours. Daren helped me check my bag. Walked to Bacchus, stayed for about an hour. Back to the hotel.
