Day 13 of cold symptoms, same as yesterday but less congestion. Breakfast: hot water. Recharge spa work all day: redesign. Finished cleaning under the kitchen sink. Vacuumed dust gathered by chair feet. Refelted 2 feet on a chair. Gathered items to give away: old jeans, lots of audio and video cables, iPhone equipment that no longer seemed to work after installing iOS 5. Late brunch: tostada from ingredients leftover from taco night, hot water. Dinner at home with Patrick: udon noodle stir fry with seitan, cabbage, carrots, daikon, red bell pepper, onions, pea sprouts, black sesame seeds; hot water. Changed a light bulb. So lately I've been enjoying OS X Lion. For a while I kept Mail and iCal open all the time maximized in their own spaces but I realized that that presents a problem when, for example, trying to rearrange windows to permit drag and drop, such as with a mail attachment in a new mail message window. Spaces that contain a maximized window won't permit other windows to be added. Consequently, I now leave Mail and iCal fully maximized in their own spaces. I keep my Dock on the right instead of the bottom. I changed that because of conflicts with the XP taskbar in VMware Fusion at work—when the XP taskbar is at the bottom and the OS X Dock is at the bottom things get confusing. The somewhat unfortunate thing is that the fan versus stack behavior of the OS X Dock isn't exactly the same way on the right as it is on the bottom, but it doesn't bother me that much. I realized I probably don't do much drag and drop to iCal, so I will maximize that one and see how it goes. Trip planning for this weekend.
