Breakfast at home: leftover brisket noodle soup. Began the installation for macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and was dismayed to find it hung before the restart with 15 minutes remaining: "Installing software update: about 15 minutes". I left it alone based on advice I found on the web. Rode Lyft Line to UCSF Laurel Heights. Sprint standup. Eric and James H helped me troubleshoot a problem in which landing hero images appeared differently in local dev environments between two computers. James fixed it somehow by changing my display settings a lot of times and clearing Drupal and browser caches a lot of times. We still don't know how it had occurred, but all seems well now. Continued new MacBook Pro setup and data flee from the 2012 iMac and MacBook Air. This transition is going smoothly. The new keyboard on the MacBook Pro has a very different feel from any Apple keyboard I have used in the past. I don't think I'll have too much trouble adapting to it, though. UCSF shuttle from Laurel Heights to Mount Zion, chatting with Nada H along the way about reading glasses and other things. Lunch at Yum Yum Hunan: drunken salmon lunch special with brown rice, hot tea. My fortune: Begin ... the rest is easy. UCSF shuttle from Mount Zion to Laurel Heights. More work same as this morning. I encountered a problem with the new Time Machine external hard drive. Hooking it to the iMac and erasing it resolved it—I think. We'll find out when I start the new Time Machine backup. Also continued documenting undocumented features of our websites. Unloaded photos from my phone: mostly photos of recently received new hardware. Rode Uber Pool home. Dinner at home with Patrick: cast-iron-cooked beef filet, creamed spinach, potato canelés; red wine, Spindrift. Dessert: we shared one Whole Foods handheld cherry pie and fig ice cream. Dessert wine for me. Attended to my hung 10.12.6 installation from this morning. Did a cold restart and was surprised and relieved to find that all was well—no visible problems.
