Southern Decadence vacation ends. Drew realizes that he had slept all night with a cockroach in the bed—how unfortunate! I packed and helped clean for checkout. No breakfast. Tina visits. Charles left first via Uber, needing to be at the airport to see if he could change to a later flight. Paul had a 4 pm flight, so he arranged to stay at the house as long as he could. I rode Uber to MSY with Peter and Wayne while Tina drove PDDR to MSY. The eight of us had thought we would see each other at the airport but we ended up at different concourses for our different flights. Charles and I were in the same concourse for a flight to IAH (Houston), so we lunched at Ye Olde College Inn. Charles had crawfish delacroix with steamed white rice and crawfish etoufee. I had peppered lemon-thyme chicken with orzo, tomatoes, and spinach with lemon-butter caper sauce. Charles was on standby for my flight to Houston and just barely made it on, getting one of the worst seats on the plane. At Houston he left me at the United club with a glass of house red. I picked up a banana on my way out for my second leg from IAH to SFO during which I rewatched Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and played Lara Croft Go on my iPad Pro. Rode Lyft Line home: about $20. Dinner at home with Patrick: Green Chef baharat portobellos with chickpeas, pickled beet, carrot and spinach salad. Reviewed Southern Decadence photos with Patrick, edited them, uploaded them to Flickr, and shared public and private links with the group. Began journal construction for the past weekend.
