Breakfast at Breka: hot breakfast croissant sandwich, mocha, water. Rode a taxi (about 20 CAD) to Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park. Visited the conservatory, which I loved. Afterwards I visited the rose garden, then stopped for a bite at the restaurant next to the conservatory called Seasons in the Park (604-874-8008). Santa Cristina chianti (9 oz, $15), duck confit pizza ($21), bread and butter, water, tiramisu with gooseberry ($9.50). Seasons in the Park has a terrifically panoramic view of downtown Vancouver. The food is excellent. Service by Philip was very good; I highly recommend it. $49.28 after tax and GST but before tip. Afterwards I visited the large quarry then small quarry—both beautiful. I had intended to visit Bloedel Conservatory and the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens but found I didn't have energy for both. I found a taxi home at the non-fountain entrance to the conservatory and rode it back to the hotel where I rested. Awoke, showered. Went out. Ran into Oth in a crosswalk, said hello, met Melvin. Davie Street seemed mostly dead with the exception of Pumpjack. After browsing the bars somewhat I had a drink at The Junction where some kind of quiz game was just ending. On the return to the hotel I purchased an order of baklava to go at Stepho's, then ate a third of it and leftover pizza in my room. To bed.
